Zion is so mean...

He was watching Brandon for just a few minutes while Becca cut Jariah's hair. I was making brownies, so he was keeping an eye on Brandon in his room. Zion was just sitting there watching him try to climb up on his little rocking horse. Brandon was working and struggling to get on this horse and kept almost falling off!! Becca finished up with the hair and walked into Brandon's room to see Zion cracking up laughing at her poor dangling son. What a terrific uncle!

He also claims that when we have kids, he is going to have a soundproof, padded room built in our house, with windows and little door to pass food through. Kind of like a gerbel or hampster cage. Cool, Huh?

And people wonder why we don't have kids yet........

Just for the record, I did a great job on Jariah's hair :o). I'm pretty proud of myself.

Since this post is about Brandon, he did something really sweet tonight. He went and got Janessa's picture off of the table in the hall and was walking around the house with it saying: "Ness" over and over again. He misses her a lot. As do we all, of course.

The brownies are delicious! They are a low calorie, made from scratch, recipe that Becca found on the internet. They actually taste more like cake than brownies, but when you put caramel icing on them, it tastes just like the Miracle Whip Cup Cakes with Caramel Icing that Grandma used to make. I haven't made them in a long time, but that icing is positively sinful!!!

Who needs bon-bons when you can make that??

He is definitely a genius! That proves it! Grandma is so proud of him.

I miss you all.

Which reminds me, Christmas is coming and we usually get you guys tons of sweaters and household items and tools. You won't have much use for sweaters, We don't have much southwest decor back here and tools are too heavy to take on the plane if you get to come or ship if you don't. What are we supposed to do? Give you stock in Love and Learn??

Back to Brandon, is he potty trained yet? How is tha going? When I went downstairs and told Dad and Justin about the stuggling to get on the horse and falling off the couch, Justin asked me if he was potty trained yet and I didn't know. I haven't heard anything about it since you've been back in AZ. We need updates. I'd call but of course it's too early. It's always too early.

And what about pictures? I've seen all those cute little Ramirez kids pictures, where's a little Holsapple kid picture? Now would be a perfect time to put that pic of Brandon in his Steak 'N'Shake hat on here. I'd do it if I had any idea how to. Israel was just talking about Steak 'N'Shake...can you guys put that pic on here?

LOL, Jess...

BTW, Janessa loved hearing about Brandon walking around with her picture. She thought that was very sweet. She misses him very much as well.

I think I detect a bit of the firecracker spirit in Jess there too. She's not even the youngest daughter, but in fact, the firstborn! Hhhmmm...my guess it that firecracker gene is so strong by coming down through who knowss how many countless generations of youngest daughters (aka spoiled princesses) that is has probably mutated or something and now all my daughters get it. I've even seen it rear it's ugly head in Beccaholsapple. The really interesting aspect of it is I'm starting to see signs of it even in the Ms. Zvx who is just living with us. I'm thinking it has something to do with that evilution theory, but of course I could be wrong.

"I was trying to let the poor kid figure something out for himself instead of always doing it for him. Besides he was cute, trying to figure it out."

That's how men learn to be men. You want the kid to learn some self reliance don'tcha?

Women always wanna turn them into helpless little momma's boys.

You don't want him calling mommy from college because his underwear has a scratchy tag do you? Because of lessons like this in the future he can either cut the tag off or turn his underwear inside out and go back to studying.

Sharla,

We were actually discussing his potty-training situation yesterday.

It is very difficult with only one bathroom and four adults. If we had two bathrooms, which I am hoping will happen soon, it would be much easier.

I am trying though, and he seems to enjoy going and sitting in there. But he doesn't understand why he is doing it. But I am sure he will catch on soon enough, since he is so smart...:o)

Red hair + youngest daughter = real trouble

I agree that kids need to figure some things out on there own. My son does that a lot. I just down believe a head trauma is necessary in the process.

Sharla: Cash is good for me.

Very Funny Israel Ramirez, How about a dollar a day for life or something like that?

Or maybe I could just send you a sweater.

Let me just quote you a little something from Charlie Brown's Christmas...

"Lucy: I know how you feel about all this Christmas business, getting depressed and all that. It happens to me every year. I never get what I really want. I always get a lot of stupid toys or a bicycle or clothes or something like that.
Charlie Brown: What is it you want?
Lucy: Real estate!"

Or cash or gift cards are great, too! We are probably going to be giving you guys gift cards. Or we might shop in Lima if we get there early enough before Christmas.

Jess,
You are a riot! That is great material, I might have to use that sometime... ;)

WAIT a second! I've got it! The perfect gift! A calendar with my countdown already posted on it!! (Plus that many days supply of bon-bons!) It's genius! I told you I was a genius!

Mom, are the adult "kids" drawing names for Christmas again, or what? Do you know?

I personally like it better when we draw names.

I think that wether we get to come for Christmas or not we are planning on giving gift cards.

If we do come we will hurry and get the kids actual presents but for everybody else we will already have cards.

I like the Ramirez Christmas tradition the best, nobody buys nothing for no one.

A cheap, easy, stress-free way to enjoy the Holidays.

I love Christmas shopping and wrapping gifts. To me, it seems like it would be more stressful not buying gifts.
