Hovel Update:

This place costs us about 5 times the price for electricity than we paid for any month in Ohio. Ever. Even during the ice storm of 2005 when we had record lows. And here, since it's been colder, my feet are always freezing, whereas in Ohio, even when it was really cold outside, inside we were always able to keep it nice and toasty... for less. Weird, huh?! Insulation is a wonderful thing...

Happy Birthday, Elijah!! We just got back from having dinner with Elijah, Elizabeth, Josh, Becca, Olga, and Becca’s parents in celebration for Elijah’s 10th Birthday. We went to a very dark Italian restaurant called FrioRitos (or something like that…) it was pretty fun.

So, here is what I have been up to lately…

I have been working on my scrapbooks, butchering my poor brows, enjoying my brand new indoor swimming pool (A.K.A. my bedroom whenever it rains, snows, or we have the cooler on....) and making really bad no-bake cookies.

Details:

Scrapbooking is going very well, I have gotten quite alot done and I am pretty much caught up with everything that I have pictures for right now, but I just ordered about 450 more pictures that I will get on Friday, so I will have plenty more to do then.

Brows, well, I guess you could say that I got a little "pluck happy" and my right eyebrow suffered the consequences. It kind of looks like I was either the victim of a fire, or attacked by a blind woman with a pair of pliers. It's not pretty. Hopefully they grow back soon.

As for the swimming pool in my room, well, that just happens whenever there is moisture outside. There is an insane leak in the roof above our closet, (not to mention the hole on the floor in the corner of the bedroom that caves in more and more whenever it rains....) where there is a seem in the roof from turning what used to be the garage into a bedroom. On the plus side, once all my clothes are ruined by the filthy rainwater, I'll get to go buy new ones!

My really bad no-bakes are a real mystery. I think it must have something to do with the altitude, but I have only been able to make about two decent batches since I moved here, which is a real bummer because I used to make them perfect every time for years! I've really lost my touch.

Oh well, now you know what’s going on in my life, what about yours?

(sing-songy tune...)

Life is good, Life is great, Zion finally ordered my plates!!!

(And mugs and bowls... I am SOOOOO ExCiTeD!!!! This calls for a great big w00t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am of course talking about the incredible eggplant dishes from Longaberger that I have been wanting since they came out around 2 years ago!!! They are so pretty and just scream me!!! Plus, they are made so well, we seriously will probably never have to buy another set of dishes!! (My mom has had her Longaberger plates for years... even through years when I was responsible for the dishes and broke something almost daily... but NEVER a Longaberger dish... those bad boys are tough!!!) I can hardly wait!! This is just like Christmas when I was a little kid!!!!! WoooHoooo!!!!! Once I get them (and move into a nicer house...) I will have to start inviting everyone over for dinner so they can see how extremely awesome these dishes are!!!!!

People who don't know me very well are now figuring out that I am a bit on the insane side.... I get very excited about things that alot of people wouldn't. =) Oh well, these dishes are fabulous and I have been waiting and waiting, wondering if I would ever get them, and last night, Zion let me call and order them!!! (Good thing, too, because they are retiring at the end of the month, and I wouldn't be able to get them after then!)

It "snowed" in sunny Tucson, Arizona. (Either that or some neighborhood kids got a little carried away with one of those snoopy snow cone makers like I used to have...) I would have taken pictures of us playing in the snow, but there wasn't quite enough to make a snowball... to use a favorite line from my brother-in-law, Josh, 'nuff said. =)

Today the hovel has no bathroom. It's lots of fun!

Zion woke me up before he left for work this morning to tell me that we can't use the bathroom today. Something is wrong with the entire plumbing situation (shock-shock!) and the guys didn't know about it until this morning when they had to leave for work. The really awesome thing about it all is that we don't even have a car to go anywhere with(Zion and I haven't gotten our cars switched over to AZ plates yet, and our Ohio plates have expired), so I guess we will be holding it all day. =)

P.S. This house stinks!!!

UPDATE:
1:30 p.m.
Becca, Brandon and I just got back from the school/church down the road. We couldn't hold it any longer and the guys won't be back till 5ish. We'll keep you posted. =)

6:04 p.m.
Zion, Becca and I just got back from Office Max, Zion took Becca and I to the bathroom as soon as he got home from work while Jariah worked on the plumbing situation. (Brandon was napping...) So far the guys aren't having much luck, I believe they are going to go rent a snake and see how it all comes out. =)

Happy Birthday, to my Pops!!! I love you and I am glad we at least got to spend the early morning of your birthday with you. =) (I'm sorry that we made you get up so early to drive us to the airport on your birthday... the good news is, we made it safely to Tucson!!)

Also, great news~ John is coming for a visit from March 2nd-10th!!!!! (If anyone else would also like to come to Tucson during that time, they would be granted the honor of seeing him..... *subtle hint for Israel*)
