I just found out today that Becca Y. reads this blog all the time. She thinks Israel and John are hilarious. She didn't know she was allowed to post. She assumed only family members could. I know Aunt Barb is reading it some, too. This questionaire would be a good time to invite any so far silent readers out there to post if they'd care to.

Favorite song:

It's a tie between "Hey baby que paso? I thought I was your only vato?" and "Who were you thinking of when we were making love last night?" by the Texas Tornados (Just kidding!)

I didn't know the Lafontaines were still rocking it hard. I guess I have to go with my homegirl Margie O'Campo.

Bring it on. Aunt Barb and Becca Y. whoever you are!

What is the Joseph Song? What's a line from it? I don't remeber that one.

Sharla said...

Oh yeah,
favorite T V show A Three way tie between The Factor with Bill O'Reilly, Hannity and Colmes, and The Glenn Beck show.

Sharla said...

On the Radio I always listen to Glenn Beck in the morning, then Rush, and finally Sean Hannity. It makes for a GREAT day!

Sharla said...

And as long as we're talking politics, another favorite book is Ann Coulter's How to Talk to a Liberal if you Must. She is brilliantand very entertaining. :)

Sharla said...

Israel,

Actually you met "Aunt Barb" at Zion and Shan's wedding. She is my sister, the stunning redhead.

Israel said...

Sharla,

That explains the brainwashing.

Rush is a drug addict (painkillers) and a Viagra fiend.

Bill O'Reilley is a sexual harrassing blow hard, who lied about being a registered independant when he is actually a Republican.

Hannity and Colmes have no journalistic integrity.

You are an all-Republican-propaganda -all-the-time kind of person.

Try watching PBS or CNN once in a while.

Israel said...

I'll listen to those guys or watch Fox news once in while when I want a laugh.

I can't believe people fall for that schtick.

My Dad used to listen to Rush occasionally because he was funny. But he never took him seriously.

I hope you watch those guys for comedic effect and not because you believe they actually have something of journalistic value to offer.

Israel said...

Ann Coulter is a monster.

Cruel beyond belief.

The way she attacked the 9-11 widows was inexcusable.

Sharla said...

Thought those lines might get your attention.

Sharla said...

I'm sure you think bagalla and carvell are all wise

Sharla said...

Actually Glenn Beck is on CNN

Sharla said...

Of course as brainwashed as I am I've never heard of Jim Leher and I have no clue what PBS is. It comes from living out here in creepy small towns in flyover country. As you know anyone with any brains has left generations ago and are enjoying much higher standards of living in places like Castro Street. So, being the liberal ever reaching out to help the downtrodden soul that you are, I guess you'll forgive me for not knowing any better.

Israel said...

I don't listen to Carvell, Stephanoupolous or any of those talking heads.

They are just trying to sell books and promote their own careers.

They could care less about the muttonheads who actually take them seriously. I make up my own mind and I only belive 20 percent of what I hear and 30 percent of what I see.

Israel said...

What worries me is people who watch those shows and actually think they are getting the "news."

Israel said...

I forgive you.

I mean you guys are from such a podunk little town in Ohio (population 35) that you think Tucson is a big city.

If I didn't like you guys so much, I would have given up long ago. So it's your fault for being so gosh-dern lovable.

Israel said...

New favorite song dedicated to Jeshanah:

"Excuses, excuses you hear them every day.

Now the Devil he'll supply them if from work you stay away.

When people come and go to work the Devil always loses, so to keep them folks away from work, he offers them excuses."

Or something like that...

Sharla said...

We all do. We all take everything that passes O'Reilly's lips as absolute gospel. By "all" I mean everyone of us in every RED state on the map. We are all morons. The only intelligent people live in BLUE states. Everyone in the blue states think for themselves, have college degrees and don't buy into any propaganda. I'm pretty sure this is how it is, but of course, I could be wrong. :)

Israel said...

Plus Carville's all squinty-eyed and he married that evil Republican flack, Mary Matlin.

How can I take someone like that seriously?

I got a letter from him today asking for money and I'm not donating a cent. In my mind, he might as well be sleeping with George Bush.

Israel said...

He commited the "unthinkable" crime against humanity of marrying a Republican.

Sharla said...

ROFL

Sharla said...

Israel
I love to hate you or hate to love you or something. Either way, you are a lot of fun.

Israel said...

There are a lot of morons in the blue states too. There are just more morons in the red states.

'nite!

Thank goodness you have taken up hunting and guns as of late. The rest of that profile hardly fits the stereotype of all of us here rednicks that Israel is bound and determined to have us live up to.

Sharla said...

also I'm not sure but what your profile looks more Mexican than Israel's? Why is that?

Hully said...

Israel likes guns and hunting.

If you study the history of hunting at all, it has always been more of an elite pastime. It has only been within the past few decades - thanks to Walt Disney - that it has been recast as a "redneck" pastime by the tree-huggers. Bambi is one of the biggest propoganda films ever.

Jeshanah said...

LOL... I think it's the chips and salsa!!

Hey Shanni

Sorry about hijacking your lighthearted little blog tonight. But Israel started it. Lol

Well anyway, this post was a good attempt at keeping things civilized on my blog.... Maybe I'll have better luck next time...

This one's for Israel,

Jeshanah said...

I know that this is a super-safe neighborhood and all, but if that's the case, why is there a helicoptor taking a pleasure cruise with a spotlight pointing down our whole street. He's flown by two times now in like a 5 minute span of time. "Kinda spooky and woohoo." (Another faovite movie line, this one is from the Muppets Christmas Carol)

Israel said...

I don't mind guns as long as you eat what you kill. And please pull a Cheney and shoot old Republican guys in the face with your guns. They won't mind, really, they won't.

Besides once you guys help the Republicans achieve their goal of a Christian theocracy in this country, guns will be needed keep the government in check, because not all religions will be on the government's "approved" list.

And that is why guns are good.

Hully said...

It has come to my attention that Sam's wife may have never had a job and that Josh's wife has only worked outside the home briefly. Jeshanah has been steadily employed for eight years. Why are you on her case to get a job?

Hully said...

One more...

Favorite cheese? Nacho cheese

Because it's mine, nachos.

Sharla said...

Oh you know Jeshanah, helicopers always go flying around safe neighborhoods shining there spotlights down through the sleepy little streets. It's probably some kind of safety patrol.

Hully said...

Oops, one more:

Favorite beverage? Diet Coke w/ Lime - a glorious carbonated nectar

Sharla said...

Hully said...

Favorite Disney character? The guy who shot Bambi's mom.

Sharla said...

John! That's awful. I thought Janessa read this sometimes!

Hully said...

Why is that awful? The guy was just trying to put food on the table for his family.

Hully said...

And Janessa doesn't get to read the Family Feud comments.

Seriously, if you guys have a beef, the WWW is not the place to air it out.

Send an email or something.

Redneck.

Israel said...

OK, Sharla, you asked:

I don't know if Josh's wife has ever had a job (I think so) and I know Sam's wife has had a job, they each have two kids.

The biggest reason I think Jeshanah should get a job is that she complains so much. I don't belive in complaining for complaining's sake, I believe that if you aren't happy with the ways things are you go out and change them. And if you hate your house, why are you gonna stay cooped up in it when you could be out working?

Doesn't make sense to me.

And it's not personal to Jeshanah, someone else I know married a woman who had worked all her life and as soon as he married her she quit and became a huge albatross around his neck. He had to make as much money as he could so he had to commute four hours a day and work 12 hours a day. Sixteen hours total with one day off a week. On his day off she would hand him a long list of projects to do and he would do handyman jobs to make a little extra.

All so that she could sit on the couch all day and eat bon bons in her nice new house. I saw him age about 15 years in 2 years, the guy looked like he was killing himself.

She was not going to have any kids because she was too old or something. All she did was get fatter and fatter until her rear was roughly the size of a Buick.

Now you guys may say "Oh how honorable, he's such a great husband, slaving away so that she can live in luxury."

I on the other hand, saw not a great husband but a world-class chump. I told her to get off the couch stop eating bon bons and get a job.

If she loved her husband, she'd help him out a little so he doesn't have to kill himself.

She was insulted for some strange reason. Go figure...

We are going to be in San Diego with the kids and nanny Sept 5-9. Did anybody ask mom if she wanted to come?

Hully said...

Israel, I don’t think it is fair to compare Shan to the woman in your example. She is a very hard worker and is not the type of person who sits around waiting on Zion to make her life luxurious. I admire them for their choice to have Zion be the breadwinner and Jeshanah stay at home.

Granted they don’t have kids yet, but I can’t blame Shan for wanting to stay with Becca and Brandon. She is completely out of her element right now and you need to cut her some slack until she gets her feet under her. Personally, I think it requires more courage to do what they are doing than it does to dive headlong into the career world and hire someone to raise their kids. That’s lazy.

Hully said...

You may not have hairy knuckles,

but you did look! :-p

Israel said...

Again, I never said lazy.

You guys are the ones who said lazy and wimpy.

I just don't see a particularly good reason for her to stay in a hovel she hates. That's all.

BUt maybe I'm missing something.

If she wants to help take care of kids, why doesn't she work at a day care or something.

I am sure Becca can manage for eight hours a day. She only has the one kid right?

Israel said...

World Class Chump #2

Another fellow I know loved to brag about how his wife had a Master's degree from an Ivy League University but didn't have to work.

He also liked to brag about how he had never changed a diaper in his life because he was such the macho breadwinner.

Turns out, after his two kids started school, his wife had nothing to do and was so bored that she started having multiple affairs. He claims he was at fault because he was working too hard and he didn't have time to keep his wife entertained.

In the end she ends up taking the kids, half his money and half his house and running off and living with some guy that she was having an affair with.

His ex-wife now works for and lives with that second guy and her first husband still has to pay her mucho alimony.

The second guy enjoys the free labor his business has aquired as well as the fact that her first husband is still paying for his concubine.

Pretty sweet deal, huh?

My point is, its not a sin for a woman to work if she's able and has nothing else to do.

And it's no great virtue for a guy to sign up for a lifetime of indentured servitude just so he can brag about how his wife doesn't have to work.

Whether or not a wife works or retires should be a decision that takes multiple factors into consideration.

Israel said...

I didn't know people could have hairy knuckles.

I thought the hair stopped before and after the knuckles.

Is that possible?

Israel said...

More fun facts about Ann Coulter.

In addition to blasting the 9/11 widows she believes women should not be allowed to vote and supports apartheid.

She is also being investigated for perjury because of some shenanigans with her voter registration card in Florida.

Great role model, if you ask me.

Israel said...

Shanah,

Another thing about nobody caring about Zion eating mustard sandwiches or whatever.

I think he got a bum deal because dad died when he was young. I think he'll tell you that I have always tried to look out for him. I constantly had to keep Josh from beating him up.

I also always tried to encourage his education (unsuccessfully so far.) I'd buy him educational toys whenever I could. Once I bought him this state-of-the-art educational kiddie computer, only to find it a few months later sans batteries, rusting in the sandbox.

If someone doesn't ask for help or take advantage of help when it is offered that's their business.

If someone doesn't wanna ride the bus or ask for food money and would rather eat mustard sandwiches, that's their choice.

Jeshanah said...

A fifteen year old kid shouldn't HAVE to ask for money to buy food.

Jeshanah said...

Food should AUTOMATICALLY be included. It's kind of a necessity.

Israel said...

How am I supposed to know he doesn't have food if I live a thousand miles away?

And why does he ask you guys for help and not his own family? He's got relatives half as block away.

He's got some s'plaining to do, there. Maybe it was a brilliant way to get pity from a beautiful princess in a faraway land?

If so, it worked like a charm...

Israel said...

A brilliant ploy, if you ask me.

Israel said...

My dad used to pay me this wonderful compliment all the time and I will now bestow it upon Zion.

"Zion, I'm impressed. You're not as dumb as you look!"

Israel said...

He got pity, money and your heart outta the bargain and all he had to do was eat a couple of delicious mustard sandwiches. Zion "The Fox" Ramirez.

Jeshanah said...

I'm not a "beautiful princess", I guess I'm a 500 pound, slave driving, bon-bon eating, affair having chicha! (I honestly don't even know what a bon-bon is...)

BeccaHolsapple said...

Israel,
You just don't get it, do you? I really don't understand the whole compairing Jeshanah to some fat woman sitting around eating bon bons and to some woman that got bored and started having affairs...what's up with that?

Jeshanah has been working hard the past 8 years in Ohio. Now we are in this little house, in this scary neighborhood,in a big city we are not used to.And you are basically saying she is being lazy for not going to work. (Maybe not in so many words, but even though we are republicans, we can read between the lines. )

Israel said...

That's the good thing about the Ramirez boys, we may be ugly, but we're not dumb!

----------------

A bon bon is a candy.

And those were not any reflections on you they were just a couple of examples of when it might be better to have your wife work a little instead of having her stay and get bored / fat.

Jeshanah said...

Becca, we might just have to take you up on your offer to come over there sometime, it gets pretty hot here. Thanks.

Israel said...

I did not compare...

You don't have to read between the lines with me, I'm a very straightforward person.

The other thing is, what is this I need a flexible schedule so I can go home whenever I want?

UUhhhh, no...

You live in Tucson now. It's home, for at least a couple years you said, for better for worse. That's like being engaged but going to visit your ex-boyfriend every other week. You gotta commit.

If you wanna visit your folks, you can do it on vacation.

Better yet, people can visit you. At least until you have lots of money to fly cross-country with every other weekend.

Jeshanah said...

yes daddy

Jeshanah said...

Your reading comprehension is beyond my understanding. When you read other people's posts, do you ever let it sink in? Before or after you reply? Or are you just thinking of a smart-alec retort the entire time you are reading so that you get to read your own posts more often? I mean, it's fine however you do it, you're obviously the only smart person on here, maybe we should all just take a lesson from you and ignore everything you say like you ignore everything we say.
Man these bon-bons are delicious. You guys have GOT to try these things, I think I've gained at least 300 pounds since I moved here. Only another 70-75 pounds to go and I'll be right up there with the other lady, now if I can just find a gardener or pool boy to work my wiles on... (ROLLS EYES)

There was a study recently where they found that all gullible people shared at least one of two traits.

One was if they had hair on their knuckles.

The second was if they looked.

Mom, Joseph's Song is by Michael Card and it goes, "How could it be, this baby in my arms, sleeping now, so peacefully, the son of god, the angels said, how could it be? Lord I know, he's not my own, not of my flesh, not of my bone, still father let, this baby be, the son of my love." And so on. This was Jariah's answer, but I typed it for him.

No. Intentionally baiting someone is about as much fun as a woman my age can have. I just mean try to keep the tone of the conversation civil.

Ooo, baiting someone is fun!
