We have had, that I have seen, two cockroaches in our house in the past 48 hours. The only other time I have seen one was on Fear Factor (about two years ago and they were eaten... it was quite repulsive, to say the least.) They are even grosser in real life.

Stop it. You're making me hungry.

Nasty. Even chocolate covered would be disgusting. There is no way that a cockroach could ever taste good.

Uuggh! That is SO gross. Make sure you or Becca are not leaving ANY food out. I've heard that is when you get those things. Like, not even a crumb of Brandon's cracker on the floor or in the wastebasket or anything. You bought a garbage disposal, right?
Get roach traps right away and get rid of them. They take the place over in a hurry if you don't. YUCK! The only time I've ever seen them was when we lived in that apt on Collett while we were building our new house. You were really little. We were only there about 4 months but I started seeing roaches the last few weeks. I can't remember if we were able to get rid of them or if we just moved into our new house, but I remember cringing when I'd turn on the light in the kitchen. UUggh!

I always have to make sure there never is a crumb anywhere otherwise we get ants like crazy. We get them even if there isn't any but it can be insane if there is.

I was doing doing the dishes after cooking and there was a huge cockroach right there, kinda freaked me out. After that, the guys said they saw one or two while we were gone. It really grosses me out just to think about it.

Zion claims everybody gets them, even in nice houses and all...I think that if that's true it's really strange that I am 21 and that was the very first one I ever saw...

We don't have a garbage disposal, the one Bro. Green gave us wasn't right. Even if I would love to have one, I am really hoping we can move soon so I don't really want to put one and leave it here.

Did your landlord say you could have pets?

Cockroaches are a good source of protein, although I prefer a nice tangy ant (which I have eaten albeit accidentally.)

In Mexico they make a worm taco delicacy "tacos de gusanos de maguey" (which my father-in-law ate and prounounced delicious)

I think I'm going to be sick.

Progress report on the Zvxes

Ms. Zvx and I were talking today after the man was released from jail. She is doing so well. Shan, you and Becca would be so proud of her! She went over last night and got almost everything out of her trailer. The little girls were estactic to have all their own toys finally. Now they will have their own beds again. She was talking to bro. Jeff on the phone, telling him how far she's come. She was so proud to tell him she can go to the grocery all by herself now. She can take her girls to Wal-Mart and walk around for hours on her own now. She can stay in the house overnight alone with the girls and not be afraid now. (of course that rarely happens, but still) She says she feels so empowered. I told her that it is the Lord and Him alone that has kept her so sane. She knows it. She is just blossoming before our eyes, as are the girls. She says she needs at least a year or two to heal, with lots of counseling and of course anyone who's been through what she has would, but she is becoming so strong mentally and emotionally that she recognises this on her own. I am so proud of her. She cried just a bit when the attorney said they were going to cuff him and transport him to Auglaise. (She is an amazingly kind person.)But a while later she had the presence of mind to suggest going to her van that he had driven and getting her CDs out.
Because of the Holy Spirit I know she'll be completely whole a little while down the road.

That's awesome. I am so glad to hear it.

Becca and I are both extremely happy to hear that wonderful report, and we are both incredibly proud of her!!

I've always known that she was a very strong person!! She is so awesome, and it sounds like she is doing amazingly well. Praise the Lord!!

Tell her to give us a call sometime, Mom. We haven't wanted to call her because we haven't known what was going on and didn't want to call at a bad time. Ask her to call us whenever it is convenient for her.

We Love you, Sis, and are very happy to hear how well you are doing!!

Phew, that's good because I for one was really worried....

You don't have to worry about us stopping praying for them. We aren't about to do that.

well my comment on the zvxs getting there own stuff back is that ms. zvx said i could get into the house however i could and since it is also in her name i was totally allowed to kick in the door to the house and take the garage door off its hinges even though i couldnt repair either
and i must say it was pretty funny actually kicking in a door i have never actually gotten to do that before where i destroyed the deadbolt lock that was on the door

Jeshanah said...

Did you put his picture up on the door precisely where you kicked it in? Because, THAT would have been really fun!!

At least I know what a mouse is, I didn't even know what a cockroach looked like! Then I was getting ready to get in the shower and there was already some nasty, big, and leggy thing in it, it really freaked me out! I didn't even know if it was poisonous or anything about it.

Mice at least usually have the decency to run away if you make noise, or enter a room. (Plus, you know Mickey and Minnie.... nah, nevermind, mice are gross, too.)
