Great pictures! That is some good camera. Tucson is beatiful, the lighting is perfect and the pictures are beautifully lit by actual sunshine.
Also Jariah looks disturbingly "hot" in that wig and I also like the picture of John standing next to that circus midget...
It was nice that you were able to capture exactly how dangerous and violent Tucson is with the fistfights and armed men and all.
You guys should visit the Bay Area next...
very cool pics, John. Ness and I loved them. We just seached flight prices for June. We have to see if we can swing it with the house and everything! Janessa thought she MIGHT be able to fly again as long as she got to see "little buddy Brandon". Also, she wants to say he is the "cutest buddy I've ever seen for a cousin!"
June is really, really hot!
Smart people go during winter and spring...
You guys all look great in your Arizona gear by the way...
Winter and Spring= School time for teachers and students. =)

Had a great time at the bday party! Happy Birthday Brandon!
Well, I've got a couple minutes now to divulge my impressions of Tucson and the infamous hovel.
I'll start with the city and the area. It is actually kind of pretty, in its own unique way. It's not like Arlington, VA pretty, and I'm not saying I'd like to build a summer home here. But the trees are actually quite lovely. I'm sure it helps that I'm here at a good time of the year weather-wise. I think I'll pass on coming back in June.
As far as the hovel, it's not nearly as bad as I pictured it. They have obviously done A LOT of work on it based on the early pictures I saw of it. Having run Schwann's routes in the South End of Lima for six months, I have been in a lot worse homes and been a lot more scared (like the time I heard gun shots while visiting a customer at the Fourth Street apartments, or the time four guys came up to me and said, "What are you doing in this neighborhood, white boy?"). It's not the worst neighborhood I've ever seen. But I'm not an attractive 24-year-old blond female.
The first two full days here have been a lot of fun and quite refreshing. For somebody who was raised on cowboy-and-Indian movies, Old Tucson was a lot of fun. Although the whole cross-dressing brother-in-law incident was kind of disturbing. Brandon's birthday party was a lot of fun too. It was nice to put faces with a lot of the names I have heard in the last 10 months. I also got to hang out with a circus clown! ;-)
The Renaissance Festival on Sunday was kind of a disappointment. It was a lot like Disney World in that it was really crowded, but without all the fun things to do. We bought some "turkey legs" from one of the vendors there and all decided that whatever it was we were eating, it wasn't a turkey leg. I threw mine, and the $5 I spent on it, in the trash after just a few bites. Becca got some great pictures of us all struggling to choke down a couple bites of the mystery meat.
Fortunately, the jousting tournament and the performance by Tartanic (a Scottish bagpipe and drum group) saved the day. The Tartanic show was awesome and, in my opinion, was worth the price of admission alone. (I'll post a link to video of their opening number in a little bit.)
We're getting ready to leave in a little bit to go to a D-backs Spring Training game, so that's all I have for now.

So John and I actually pretty much agree on the hovel, sweet hovel. (I can hear Jeshanah's return to Ohio balloon deflating as we speak.)
What you had at the Renaissance Festival was probably savory leg of Chihuahua, a popular treat during the middle ages.
I find it interesting that your favorite part of the Festival involved men in skirts...
If you guys wanna plan a June trip, Northern California is lovely at that time of year.
I added some pics from the baseball game today. They are on the end of the set from the first day.
Tartanic Rocks!!
I really like the baseball photos and the A-10 Warthog next to the flags was also really cool.
Idylic settings, I know Harry from Fantasy Football would have loved to have been in Tucson watching Barry Zito pitch for his Giants. he goes down for spring training sometimes.
Your photos should be sent to the Arizona Tourism Board as they'd make a perfect travelogue. barndon is a great subject.
Pics from the White Sox-Rockies game and from our quick trip to Nogales, Mexico have been added. All of the pics from the trip have been combined into one slideshow. (The new ones are on the end.) Click here
Great work.
