Our church is having special meetings this weekend to celebrate the seventh anniversary of the church, Brother Burley Williams is the special guest speaker. I've heard him preach in Ohio numerous times, and I like him alot.

I think I am going to use these meetings as an excuse to finally take some pictures of the church and some of the church members so that my family can see what our church here looks like. I might not get this stuff posted until Monday, though, because they have a pretty full roster of events in the next couple days... services, picnics... stuff like that.

i just want to say that i am sorry for the big ten bias that those officials had as i am sure according to the pac ten fans that had to be the reason the PURDUE BOILERMAKERS BEAT the ARIZONA WILDCATS in the first round. HaHaHa

Is Brother Burley Burly? HA HA! Where do I come up with thsi stuff?

No, actually the reason Purdue beat Arizona is that Arizona isn't very good.

Well, I didn't take any pics today, but I did meet some of your cousins, Sarah! Jim and Linda Wintersomething? W.... I don't remember their last name... but they were really nice and they will be here all weekend for the anniversary meetings, so I'm sure I'll talk to them again! (They both say, "Hi!" by the way.)

It was a full house today, and funny thing, Bro. Burley even used the "employer says jump, employee asks how high?" thing in his sermon referring to Moses. Plus, he later threw himself to the ground, on purpose, to illustrate a point. Gotta love it!! He's awesome!

I'll try to get the pictures tomorrow. Talk to you all later...

Whew, Ohio State dodged a bullet there. Xavier has always been a giant killer, especially when they have something to prove. Remember a few years ago when Cincinnati was the No. 1 team in the nation and Xavier beat them at their place in the Crosstown Shootout? I still remember Andy Mac's call when the clock ran out, "Cincinnati may be the No. 1 team in the nation, but they're the No. 2 team in Cincinnati." Classic stuff.

Wow! That's neat that you saw my cousins!*breaks into song* "It's a small world after all, it's a small world....Ok, ok, I won't sing the whole song" Anyways, their last name is Whitworth(at least you go the W right!=). Please be sure to tell them that I said Hi back. Glad you're enjoying the services....Bro. Burley is certainly one of a kind. Can get his point across in some unusual ways.
I remember how much we loved that employer/employee remark when he used it in our church, ESPECIALLY since you happened to be our VALUED! employee at the time!! ;)

I love brother Burley. He has a FACINATING testimony! And yes, Israel, he is actually about as burly as they come.

This is great having all these new people on here! Hi everybody!

Shan,

I hope you get some pics of the church building, too. I hate it that I don't even know what the place looks like or where it's at. You know how I am, it feels like you are farther away. :(

I hope we can visit again sometime before too long, it would be great to visit the church whenever we can come.

Show us everything and everyone with pics on here!

I just wanted to say that I do not have a single dirty dish in my apartment right now. This is a particularly newsworthy development at this point of my life (though not newsworthy enough to post on my own blog). We now return you to your regularly scheduled postings....

Jeshanah said...

Oh, sure, I only get the non-newsworthy-enough-for-John's-Blog-news posted on my blog? What's up with that?

Although, thinking about it, it does make sense that you would post about your dishes being done on here, as opposed to your blog, because this is the laundry-doing announcement blog, and I guess we can expand to include dishes as well. Furthermore, I did have that rather lengthy post about my purple Longaberger dishes on here, too.

Very well, I guess it makes sense, carry on....

I do have a hamper full of unwashed laundry, if that is any consolation. I have been wearing sandals the past week because all my socks are dirty and I haven't been able to do laundry.

Cold toes, huh, John?? By the way, since you have all your dishes done, would you come down and do mine for me...I have a bunch!!! I might reciprocate by doing some laundry for you! ;)

Heh, how 'bout you take my property midterm for me instead?

On second thought, nevermind.

i am not sure but i think sarah has really taken a liking to this blog thing

Well, she is so in love with the sound of her own voice that it seems only natural she would be equally infatuated with the sight of her own words.

(Admit it, you miss having me around, Sarah.) :-D

Allright, you guys...quit ganging up on me.
This is my first experience with blogging(you know, being the sheltered person I am), and I think it's great fun. Dana says I'm becoming addicted because I'm on here checking them morning and night. I think it's just because
you all are such great people, and since we don't hardly ever get to talk otherwise, it's a fun way to keep in touch!!

Actually, I do miss you,John....

....about as much as one misses a cold sore!! Ha! ;)

LoL, Sarah!!

I personally am very glad that you are becoming an addict. It's so much more fun to blog when there are actually people saying something!! =)
