We just got back to the hovel from Phoenix, where we spent yesterday and today with Danny and Joanna and their boys. Us girls went shopping at some furniture stores yesterday, and personally, I had alot of fun looking at everything. There are some really cool pieces of furniture and room displays out there, it's going to be a blast decorating my new digs!!!

This morning we went and visited our 'old' new church, (Bro. Ron Peterson's, where the Phoenix Ramirez's attend) and it was nice to see those believers again. At one point during his sermon, Bro. Ron brought up that Hillary Clinton is running for President, and that he might for the first time in his life go register to vote.... for her!!!!!!! LOL His reason was something along these lines: he wanted to vote for her so maybe the end would be upon us and we could get out of dodge!! Cracked me up, whatever the reason.

I think his words were "help her into office so we can get out of here". He also brought up an interesting point. For the Biblical scholars, If Hillary win's she wants to be known as President Rodham. She'll be leading the nation, fullfilling prophesy, and she'll have a 6 letter H-A-M name.

Also, as a woman refusing to take on her husband's name, she would be a symbol of the denominations.

Sharla said...

wow. That is interesting. It makes you think that is probably how it will come about. It will be facinating to see how it plays out.

Or, if he wants to get out of here even quicker, he could go out and play in traffic (blindfolded)...

What do you guys think of our scumbag President, pardoning Scooter Libbey, the VP's Chief of Staff who was sentenced to go to jail for perjury?

Still think Bush is the greatest thing ever?

Is that what you Republicans call bringing honor back to the White House? Pardoning your political cronies for criminal offenses in order to protect yourself?

Anonymous said...

haha he didnt pardon him b.c libby will win his appeal through the judicial process and how many of clintons cronies did he pardon?

You might not like Bush Israel, but that's not the point, the point is she would fulfill a prophesy that is too happen right before the destruction of the United States.

WHY.ARE.WE.NOT.A.DENOMINATION?_ JEFF.IN V-11 N-7 SATURDAY_ 58-0927

136 And in 1933 when the Lord, when we was having meetings over here where that Church of Christ is standing now, the old Masonic home, the vision of the Lord came to me up here and predicted that, Germany would rise up and have put that Maginot Line there. Many of you remember. And how they'd be all fortified in there, and the Americans would take a great beating right there at that line. It also said what would take place, and about Roosevelt and them things, how he would run and make that fourth term. Perfectly, just exactly the way it come to pass. And also said that cars would keep getting more like an egg, until the last days they'd be just in the shape of an egg.
Now, I said, "It'll come to pass that those cars will not be run by a steering wheel; it'll be something another run." It's them cars they're bringing out right now, remote control, for safety. Correct. You won't be able to enter into a city then, a twenty-mile zone, you can just go twenty mile. You can't hit another car, because it's remote control. See, it's going like that right now.
And I said, "Remember, in that day, before the end time comes, before the end time comes, that a woman... Now, you all keep this wrote down. There'll be a great powerful woman raise up, either be President, or dictator, or some great powerful woman in this United States. And she'll sink under the influence of women. Now, you remember; that's THUS SAITH THE LORD."

Kinda interesting that her husband was a fulfillment of prophesy too as our "lady's man" president.

Jeshanah said...

It's not that he wants to die, he wants the rapture to happen, and he knows that there are certain things that need to take place before that will come to pass. Playing in traffic would not have the same effect... but you knew that. =)

And remember, this is... America will... A--a woman... I--I better leave it alone. But just remember this. I predict that a woman will be president before we're annihilated. That's right. I said that in 1933 by a vision.

Her number is thirteen, and she'll rise up, either be president, or (I put it in parentheses) perhaps the woman being beautiful and attractive will be the Catholic church but cruel at heart, and she'll lead the nation to pollution. And then it will come to pass that they'll have an automobile perfected into a place, that I seen a family driving in an automobile that was glass topped and didn't have any steering wheel in it."

Clinton didn't pardon any of his "cronies." But of course you wouldn't know that, would you Justin?

Bush didn't pardon Libbey? That's complete mularkey, he "commuted his sentence" which is the same thing.

Basically if you get convicted of a crime and you are a member of the Bush administration you get out of jail free.

Bush, Cheney, Gonzalez, Libbey are all disgusting, hypocritical scumbags. Lucky for them, many Americans are still too obtuse to see that.

Hully said...

Roger Clinton, Henry Cisneros, Susan McDougal -- any of those ring a bell? Roger was, of course, Bill's half-brother who he pardoned for a conviction of cocaine possession. Cisneros left the Clinton administration after pleading guilty to making false statements to federal officials, only to be later pardoned by Clinton. And McDougal was convicted for obtaining millions in illegal loans as part of the Whitewater real estate scam, of which Clinton was a part. He subsequently pardoned his ex-business partner.

Hully said...

Pardon (v)
to use the executive power of a Governor or President to forgive a person convicted of a crime, thus removing any remaining penalties or punishments and preventing any new prosecution of the person for the crime for which the pardon was given. A pardon strikes the conviction from the books as if it had never occurred, and the convicted person is treated as innocent.

Commutation
the act of reducing a criminal sentence resulting from a criminal conviction by the executive clemency of the Governor of the state, or President of the United States in the case of federal crimes. This is not the same as a pardon, which wipes out the conviction or the actual or potential charge (as when President Gerald R. Ford pardoned ex-President Richard M. Nixon even without charges having been officially made-a rare instance). A pardon implies either that the conviction was wrong, that there has been complete rehabilitation of the party, or that he/she has lived an exemplary life for many years and deserves to have his/her name cleared in old age. Commutation implies the penalty was excessive or there has been rehabilitation, reform or other circumstances such as good conduct or community service.

Pardon, commutation... NOT the same thing. But you knew that...

Complete list of Clinton Pardons

Israel said...

The difference is that Libbey was covering up wrongdoing at the highest levels of the Bush administration. He was the fall guy for Bush and Cheney's lies and hypocrisy.

None of the guys who Clinton pardoned had were covering up corruption in the Executive office.

Susan McDougal went to jail for White Water something that had nothing to do with the Clinton administration. She spent over a year and a half in jail.

Same with Roger Clinton, nothing to do with the administration. And Cisneros was being prosecuted for covering up an extramarital affair, not anything having to do with corruption in the government.

Libbey committed perjury while covering up Cheney and Bush's misdeeds and he isn't going to do a day in jail.

Do you see the difference? No, of course you can't.

And since you can't, you might as well change your registration back to Republican. Since you seem approve of everything this scumbag President does.

Oh so that is what Bush meant when he said he was bringing honor back to the Whitehouse, he would "commute" the sentence of corrupt members of his administration instead of "pardoning" them.

I would have a lot more respect for the scumbag if he just called it what it was a pardon that keeps Libbey from ever having to spend a day in jail for his crimes.

Absolutely pathetic...

Hully said...

Since you seem approve of everything this scumbag President does.

Show me where I expressed my approval. As the accuser, the burden of proof is on you.

Anonymous said...

now israel the so called lie of mr libbey was on which day he made a comment two and a half years ago some how that is covering something up he didnt deny what he said or didnt say other than the date was inaccurate doesnt 30 months in jail seem a bit wrong for being off by 2 days and why should he spend a day in jail when he will win his case in appeal and in all reality a quarter of a million dollar fine seems a bit steep for the crime and if you looked at it as right and wrong not left or right you would have to agree but your right i dont agree with bush commuting the sentence he should have pardoned him

Israel said...

Justin,

The fact that you believe that's what happened explains why you are a Republican.

'Nuff said...

Israel said...

John,

OK you disapprove then, you just like defending the scumbag for no good reason. As an exercise in semantics let's say...

Anonymous said...

ok since you know what scooter libby did was it any differnt than this guy that clintonbpardoned MORISON, Samuel Loring Willful transmission of defense information, unauthorized possession and retention of defense information, theft of government property
or how about this guy NOSENKO, Charlene Ann Phoenix, Arizona Conspiracy to defraud the United States, and influencing or injuring an officer or juror generally i am assuming all this was alright b/c this was bill clintons pardons so there is now not really any proof of wrong doing unlike libby who will still have it on his record that he was found guilty

Israel said...

Justin:

You don't get it and I don't have the patience to explain it to people who don't get it and will probably never get it.

Maybe you could ask John?

I'm guessing he gets it even though he won't admit as much on this board.

Hully said...

I didn't follow the Scooter Libby fiasco close enough to feel qualified to comment on it specifically. My only argument is that it is rather duplicitous for Clinton supporters to vilify the current administration, or any other for that matter, for its proclivity towards scandal.

The Clinton years were some of the most scandal-ridden in the now 231-year history of our country. Bill Clinton was not as pure as the wind-driven snow; not even close. Corruption exists at every level of government in every party.

Oh, and my other point was that there is a distinct difference between a pardon and a commuted sentence. That much I do know.

Hully said...

Personally, I think Libby should have been thrown in prison just for being an adult named "Scooter."

Sharla said...

Israel,

How simple it is for you to just dismiss any comment Justin makes by either ignoring it or telling him he just doesn't get it and probably never will. We all know he doesn't use punctuation and while that IS annoying, he is not retarded or anything!
It takes a minute or two longer to read, but the point he made is as valid as any of yours. :)

If you had followed it closely you would understand that it is absolutely nothing like what happened at the end of Clinton's administration.

Sharla,

I don't think Justin is retarded, I really just don't have the patience to explain it to him.

It is a virtue that I lack.

If I had it, then maybe I would trade places with John so I could be teaching high school kids.

I figured having John explain the difference to Justin would be good practice for John before he starts his new gig.

Again, I honestly don't have the patience, or else I would....

Actually, "pantie" is an acceptable spelling. Merriam-Webster lists it as the primary spelling, with "panty" also accepted. And Firefox spell checker flags "panty" but not "pantie." As far as the "waste" instead of "waist," well, that's just a product of trying two right in a hurry. I'll remember, though, the next time you make one that typos are not allowed.

Hully said...

By the way, according to the 2006-07 rankings, Ohio is the 34th smartest state in the Union. That's not overly impressive. In fact, it's pretty embarrassing. But it is 13 positions ahead of No. 47 California and 16 spots ahead of No. 50 Arizona. Such luminaries as Oklahoma, West Virginia, and Alabama all finished ahead of California. Only Mississippi, Nevada, and good ol' AZ were worse. How 'bout them apples?

Anonymous said...

That's a pretty stuck up survey. Who decides what "smart" is. Sounds like whoever came up with that survey is pretty narrow minded and needs to do some of their own brain searching.

BeccaHolsapple said...

Oh no! Zion doesn't like the idea that Arizona is the dumbest state!

What are we going to do?!?

Israel said...

Well I notice John didn't cite sources for his survey.

I also don't recall getting an IQ test, do you Zion?

I don't know how you do a survey of "smartness" unless you ask people to self report --"Uh, yeah, I live on Gomer Road and uh, I guess I'm purdy smart. I've gots lots of common sense. I'm lots smarter than Californians anyway."

I also bet the survey is really racist and they didn't give the millions of monolingual Spanish speakers in California the test in Spanish, not to mention giving it to all the Hmong and Cambodians and other Asians that live around here in their respective tongues.

So I bet it's skewed toward the white-bread states. And even given all those inherent advantages, Ohio came out 34th?

Only someone from Ohio would think that a smartness "survey" would have any credibility.

Anonymous said...

Becca,
If Arizona is the dumbest state, then it would give me the most opportunity to outsmart the majority of people around me. It would give me the opportunity for a better job, and make more money. But the fact is that's simply not true.

BeccaHolsapple said...

Well, it all depends what the results actually come from. If it's from SATs from high school for 06-07, it doesn't mean that the people in the work market are dumber....

Anonymous said...

if that is the case, then john would be incorrect in saying "the State of Ohio is smarter" considering they weren't studying the whole group, just a very limited group of kids around the age of 18 yrs old.

John is neither 18, neither has he taken his SAT test in between 06-07.

Then there is the whole matter of what smart is, and what dumb is. I surprised a journalist would use such broad terms as he has.

Methodology

This fifth Smartest State designation is awarded based on 21 factors chosen from Morgan Quitno’s annual reference book, Education State Rankings, 2006-2007. To calculate the Smartest State rankings, the 21 factors were divided into two groups: those that are “negative” for which a high ranking would be considered bad for a state, and those that are “positive” for which a high ranking would be considered good. Rates for each of the 21 factors were processed through a formula that measures how a state compares to the national average for a given category. The positive and negative nature of each factor was taken into account as part of the formula. Once these computations were made, the factors then were assigned equal weights. These scores then were added together to determine a state’s final score (“SUM” on the table above.) This way, states are assessed based on how they stack up against the national average. The end result is that the farther below the national average a state’s education ranking is, the lower (and less smart) it ranks. The farther above the national average, the higher (and smarter) a state ranks. This same methodology is used for our annual Healthiest State, Safest and Most Dangerous State and Safest/Dangerous City Awards.

The table above shows how each state scored in Morgan Quitno’s fifth annual Smartest State Award.

First off, you shouldn't put quotations around a statement that isn't a direct quote; it's very misleading. Second, I never said Ohio is smarter. I said that a survey said Ohio finished higher than Cali. and Az. Third, you're arguing against a survey that doesn't exist, one that you concocted in your own imagination because it would be the easiest type to discredit. And fourth, I'm not a journalist. I'm a high school teacher.

So take a look at the survey. Agree with it or disagree with it. I didn't say it was right or wrong. I simply noted that it existed. I'm sorry you're so insecure about Arizona. It must be difficult being from there.

ANOTHER GOOD REASON REPUBLICAN POLITICIANS HAVE GOD ON SPEED DIAL

Sen. David Vitter, R-La., apologized Monday night for "a very serious sin in my past" after his telephone number appeared among those associated with an escort service operated by the so-called "D.C. Madam."

Vitter's spokesman, Joel Digrado, confirmed the statement in an e-mail sent to The Associated Press.

"This was a very serious sin in my past for which I am, of course, completely responsible," Vitter said in the statement. "Several years ago, I asked for and received forgiveness from God and my wife in confession and marriage counseling. Out of respect for my family, I will keep my discussion of the matter there — with God and them. But I certainly offer my deep and sincere apologies to all I have disappointed and let down in any way."

HEY, DON'T WORRY, IT'S COOL!!

GUILIANI, GINGRICH AND MCCAIN ARE ALL ADULTERERS SO IT SEEMS TO BE A PREREQUISITE TO RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT AS A REPUBLICAN THESE DAYS.

BY THE WAY, HAS THE GUY WHO GOT CAUGHT CHASING LITTLE BOYS FOUND JESUS YET?

BECAUSE THAT GUY IS RIPE FOR A COMEBACK...

I'm just waiting for Justin's common sense comments as to why it is OK for Republicans to commit adultery:

Justin:

"well clinton committed adultery so what is different about republicans committing adultery i don't think their is anything wrong with what they did because it is exactly what clinton did so their."

And then John's brilliant defense which he will later disavow and when he admits he doesn't know enough about the situation to actually comment on it:

John:

"Justin makes a lot of sense and like George W. Bush has a lot of common sense. His analysis is not at all retarded. As for what I think, well is it adultery really? I mean it seems this guy solicited a prostitute but there is no evidence that he wanted to carry on an "adulterous" affair with her. I see their relationship as more of a "professional relationship" than an adulterous one and you would too if you weren't such a panty wasted liberal without common sense. P.S. I am not a Republican but I defend all their actions no matter how despicable."

Sharla:

"Wow! John and Justin I enjoy your analysis it is absolutely brilliant and you two may just be the smartest people that ever lived. It is an honor to read your incredibly intelligent posts! Israel on the other hand makes no sense and is a total nincompoop!"

I am here to accurately point out the faults of our lying, hypocritical, bumbling, scumbag president and his criminal cronies.

The Democrats for all their faults don't run off and hide behind God and the Flag everytime they have the chance. And they don't have legions of uninformed, brainwashed, fundamentalist Christians who don't understand the first thing about the Constitution pulling the voting levers for them like trained monkeys.

So like it or not, I am the voice crying out against stupidity and corruption in the political wilderness.

So the next time you guys get used by the Republicans, at least you will get used with your eyes as open as I can pry them.

At least when I get done with you you might know a little about separation of church and state and maybe a little bit about the separation of powers. I'd be happy if you guys just sharpened up and looked at the Republicans with a critical eye instead of swallowing their propaganda hook, line and sinker.

And as for the insults, consider them partial restitution for your part in having set our country back 50 years by helping vote in the worst president in the history of the United States, not once but twice.

I do it because I care. Remember folks, the first step toward healing is admitting you have a problem.
