Happy New Year!!

It has been a crazy week between Christmas and New Years here in Ohio. We all got sick (VERY SICK) with the flu the day after Christmas for a couple of days. It was awful! My family had been planning a family shower (with aunts and cousins) which we had to postpone because we were all so ill on Saturday. I'm not sure when it will be rescheduled to, but hopefully we won't all come down with that ever again!!!

My Doctor is planning to induce me at 39 weeks so it looks like I'll be a mom in a week and a half! YIKES!!! I'm ready to have this baby out because it's getting to be quite uncomfortable being this big, but I'm still not sure where I'll put the baby once it's here!! Being homeless (or having all of your stuff 2000 miles away... however you want to look at it) when you are this close to having a baby is kinda nerve wracking. Thankfully some of my friends from church are planning a shower for me this Saturday, so maybe I'll have what I need when the baby actually arrives. =)

I went the other night and got my pedicure. It was quite lovely!! My feet feel almost human again. Thank you so much for that, honey! I loved it!! =)

Happy New Year to you and the little one! She is probably turning somersaults with joy - celebrating the New Year!

Wow! A week and a half is really soon! Do you get to pick the day?

It might work out better to have a baby shower after you have the baby, because then we get to meet her in person. Notice I keep saying she! Yes, I am certain that the baby is a girl!

I'm glad that you are all feeling better. I have been afraid to come back up cos I sure don't want that kind of flu!

And I bet your tootsies look real pretty! Enjoy...

Glad you got your gnarly feet fixed so the doctor doesn't lose his lunch during the birthing procedure.

So when is Zion going to be there? Is he there already?

I personally can't wait to have this blessed birth happen. You think you've got stuff to complain about now?

Just you wait little Missy...

More proof of the West's superiority.

----

The Pac-10 is 5-0 in bowl games.

The Big 10 is 1-5.

-----

The should move the Football Hall of fame out of Ohio lest it be tainted by whatever it is they happen to play in Columbus, Cleveland and Cincinnati.

By the way, in case anyone cares, I've raised my blog from the dead. Link

Care? Meh. Not really.

Big 10 Bowl record now 1-6.

Texas beat OSU 24-21.

The Longhorns had hoped to use the Fiesta Bowl to persuade voters they deserved a share of the national championship if Oklahoma beats Florida in Thursday night’s BCS final. The Associated Press Top 25 is Texas’ only chance at nabbing a slice of the title but the close victory over the Buckeyes may not be enough to persuade voters.

----

FAT CHANCE! Everybody knows that you have to beat OSU by at least 40 points to even get a sniff of being considered for a national championship.

Beating them by only three points in a BCS bowl is such an embarrassment that the Texas program may never recover.

It's like whiffing the first time you try to take out a sacrificial lamb. Sure you'll get the job done eventually, but it's embarrassing nonetheless...

Maybe if the OSU players had gotten pedicures before the game they would have been able to run faster.

Naw, cuz they'd still be soft as Charmin...

I was impressed with OSU's performance. We came one missed tackle away from winning, and that with our best player (Wells) sidelined most of the 2nd half. Missed field goal and extra point conversions hurt too.

Even though we lost, it was the most entertaining BCS bowl game I've watched in awhile. WE CAN BUILD ON THIS!

Watch. Next year OSU will crush USC in the shoe. Then they'll go on to the title game only to lose to Alabama. Remember folks, you heard it here first.

Not if Sanchez comes back.

If he comes back (and even if he doesn't) you're probably toast...

"More proof of the West's superiority."

Well... technically it's the Southeast (as in SEC) that is dominating college football right now, as evidenced by three straight national championships.

"The[sic] should move the Football Hall of fame out of Ohio lest it be tainted by whatever it is they happen to play in Columbus, Cleveland and Cincinnati."

Funny you should mention that, because Urban Meyer and Les Miles, the coaches of the last three national champions, are from Ashtabula, Ohio and Elyria, Ohio respectively, both of which are just outside Cleveland and less than 100 miles from, that's right, Canton. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

I think the Hall's in the right place.

Oh, and if you want to talk NFL, a team from the West Coast hasn't won a Super Bowl since the Niners in 1995.

The last two West Coast teams to play in the Super Bowl -- the Oakland Raiders in 2003 and the Seattle Seahawks in 2006 -- both lost to coaches who were born and raised within that 100-mile radius of Canton.

Jon Gruden, coach of the 2003 Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers is from Sandusky, Ohio, and Bill Cowher, coach of the 2006 Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers, is from Crafton, Pa., just across the state line.
