I hope that everyone had a good Memorial Day!! While we didn't go to the usual Memorial Day Picnic in Gomer this year (for the second year in a row...) we did have a very nice day. We were invited over to Bro. Mark and Sis. Tina's for lunch along with 2 other couples.

After lunch, we played pictionary, gals vs. guys + Laryssa!! (there were more girls than guys...) Despite my superior skills(lol), he guys team destroyed us. They set the board up so that both teams were drawing the same thing at the same time, but we couldn't see what the opposite person (who happened to be your significant other...) was drawing. It was quite comical at times, and really alot of fun!!! =)

After pictionary, everyone just sat and visited for a while, then we headed down the road and did something that I would never have thought I would do.

We went to an overpass down the road, and walked partway down into a 'wash' (which is where all the water goes to form a temporary river whenever it rains in AZ.) and watched as thousands of bats flew out to start their evening of hunting... or whatever it is that they go do. It was quite disgusting and at the same time, kinda cool to see.

Hhmmm...it doesn't sound safe.

Shan is just one of those white, spoiled, trust-funded, death-wish thrill seekers. A Mexican would never risk life and limb by going down into a wash to see bats, unless there was a green card down there.

;-) :-p

We stayed very near the top of the wash, and there was no water in it. Also, we were actually pretty far away from the bats, we couldn't see any details on them, and if you just pretended that they were birds coming out, it was neat to watch. =)

Doing Pictionary that way sounds fun! We'll have to try that someday when you come back to OH.

As for the bats, that would be pretty cool to see, as long as you weren't too close. Then it would give me the creeps.

We walked in alot of washes when I was a kid. We never thought much about it then, but now after hearing stories about people getting caught in them by flash floods, I might be a little more nervous!

We offered her a big black garbage bag to put over head so she could get right under the bats but she didn't want to for some reason or another... :P

Got that right.

And speaking of bats.

And did you know that Batman is really Mexican?

His real name is Bruno Diaz and Robin's name is Ricardo Tapia.

You didn't think Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson were real names did you?

Just like other Mexicans (Rita Hayworth, etc, etc) they had to change their names to get some love in Hollywood.

There is another Mexican version of a Batman type superhero named "Bat-Manuel." He was played by an Englishman on the series "The Tick." (Typical Hollywood)

Okay, the 30th has passed. Wasn't that when Becca was supposed to find out what she's having? Or was it the 30th of some other month?

It was the 30th of this month, but it wasn't to find out the sex of the baby. It was to find out the quantity, but they didn't do an ultrasound so we still don't know. =(

I don't even really have a due date, I am bigger than I should be according to my gestational weeks. So they are going to do an ultrasound. They said the best they can give me for now is January 13th, but it's not definite. I will have my ultrasound on June 13th. So I'll know more then.

Man I miss the tick...remind me to use one of his quotes nest time you and John start going back and forth:

"Lordy, gents! Your banter is immaculate and a pleasure to witness! " ;)
