As soon as I saw Arizona was playing a team from Ohio, I knew we were going to the Sweet 16.

You guys notice how the whole State of Arizona got it's mojo back after some negative nellies (who didn't deserve to be in Arizona) went back to Ohio?

Arizona Cardinals weren't even supposed to make it past the first round of the playoffs and they make it to the Superbowl. Arizona wasn't supposed to be in the Tournament and they make it to the Sweet 16.

It's like a cloud of loserness has left our state and settled back where it belongs -- Ohio.

(rolls eyes) Good Riddance! I'm still trying to shake all that AZ dust off my shoes!

Umm, didn't the Cardinals lose the Super Bowl, 27-23? And weren't James Harrison (Kent State University), Ben Roethlisberger (Miami University), Santonio Holmes (The Ohio State University), and Gary Russell (born Columbus, OH) directly responsible for every Pittsburgh touchdown?

(For the record, yes they were.)

BOILER-UP!!!
Sweet 16 - boo ya!

(name on my diploma says Purdue)

How did the Cleveland teams do?

As in Cleveland and Cincinnati?

Oh yeah, those losers represented their state well, by losing.

As for the Pittsburg Steelers, Ohioans trying to take credit for their success is pretty pathetic.

I've already said that anyone with ties to Ohio who has the sense to leave should be lauded, because they know that if they stay in that state, they'll just keep losing with the rest of the losers.

By Cleveland teams I mean Ohio. I think Ohio as a whole needs to adopt Cleveland's nickname, "The Mistake by the Lake."

You guys can shorten it to just "The Mistake," as in:

OHIO:

It's a MISTAKE to be born there, a MISTAKE to stay there and a MISTAKE to go there.

And they should change the name of the restaurant to MISTEAK & SHAKE.

Top 5 Recent Ohioan Mistakes:

1) Self Injurious Celebrating while thinking they won the championship by running the opening kickoff back for a touchdown against Florida. Then proceding to get killed.

2) Microwaving the Baby.

3) Marrying a Giant Meaty Transexual even if she is 40 years younger than you are.

4) Getting fired from the best job in Ohio (Burger King) for taking a bath in the kitchen sink.

5) Leaving Arizona.

I'd post lots more, but you get the picture.

but i know ohio state was in the finals with the past 4 years. When was the last time Arizona was playing in the finals in any sport?

Unknown said...

No use, Justin. Liberals have the attention span and memory of a caffeinated gerbil.

What happened four years ago (or even four minutes ago) doesn't matter. Live in the now!

Caffeinated gerbil - *hehe*

Since you asked...

1997 Arizona Wildcats - National Champs in Basketball, where you earn it, not just B(C)S it.

2001 Baseball World Champions Arizona Diamondbacks.

2009 - The Arizona Cardinals played in the Superbowl and came very close to winning it all. Unlike Ohio State, they overachieved instead of choking.

Israel said...

Since their establishment in 1901, the Indians have won two World Series championships, in 1920 and 1948. They are a running joke when it comes to futility.

Diamondbacks have won one Championship and they've only been around 10 years. Not 208 years.

Ohio State has a Basketball Championship but it came in 1960. Arizona's championship was 1997 and Arizona has the longest actives streak of consecutive NCAA tournament appearances at 25.

Cleveland is one of the five NFL teams that has yet to qualify for the Super Bowl. Additionally, Cleveland has not hosted a Super Bowl, making it the only NFL city to have neither hosted nor sent a team to the Super Bowl.

The Cardinals played in the Superbowl this year which puts them one up on Cleveland.

The Bengals haven't won a superbowl either, but they have made it twice only to be defeated by the glorious San Francisco 49ers. The rest of the time they have also been a running joke.

I won't talk about college football because that's a ficticious Championship not a real one.

That would be 108 yr. but who's counting POPS

Israel said...

Well it's seems twice as long when your franchise and state is synonomous with losing.

What happens when the Browns leave Ohio and move to Baltimore and become the Ravens? They win a Superbowl.

Even Bill Bellichik, probably the greatest coach of all time who took a joke of a Franchise (the New England Patriots) to multiple Superbowl Championships couldn't beat the pervasive cloud of loserdom that permeates Ohio. Even he left with his tail between his legs.

justin h said...

I thought you said U of A was good it looks as if they were totally outclassed.

justin h said...

hey what about the cinncinnati reds and their winning the world series? what they did better than your west cost losers so you dont want to mention them?

Michigan St (who OSU beat in the conf tournament) is in the elite eight while AZ got their tails handed to them by UL.

I do agree with Obama on one thing, the PAC-10 is very weak this year. The way AZ played last night they should be seeded in the women's NCAA bracket.

Sharla said...

Naturally. Now PMB is agreeing with Obama on something and Israel is not. Even more proof that the world has turned upside down.

I wish it would turn back, all the blood is running to my head and shooting out my eyeballs!

I never said that Arizona was good, I said that they had overachieved and they did.

They made us proud because they went further than anyone expected them to.

Louisville played a near perfect game. They were even flawless from the free throw line when they normally shoot 66 percent. They couldn't miss from the three point line, and everything just went perfectly for them that game.

They were too big, too strong too deep and too quick for Arizona. We got beat by the number one ranked team in the whole tournament. No shame in that.

Louisville spent so much time showboating and dancing on the sidelines for the cameras during the game that those classless idiots didn't have anything left for MSU.

I fully expected them to get slaughtered by MSU (a very deep, strong, disciplined, mentally tough team) they Louisville were way too full of themselves after the Arizona game and karma came back to bite them.

All in a ll a very satisfying tournament with Arizona getting to the sweet sixteen and then getting to watch those Louisville idiots get embarrassed by MSU. A very very satisfying tournament all in all.

Unknown said...

You really expected Mi St, who lost to those 'losers' at OSU in the Big 10 tourney, to beat the #1 team in the tournament? That's kinda prophetic ... except for the part where you told the prediction after the game. Haha.

And, given AZ had 3 likely NBA players, it could be argued they really underachieved in (barely) meriting a 12 seed.

Perspective - it's what's for dinner.

Israel said...

Perspective?

Did I say Arizona was gonna win the tournament as a number 12 seed? I said they deserved to be in the tournament and they proved that by going to the Sweet 16.

And yes, I did expect MSU to win, not because they have more talent, but because I'd watched them play earlier and I believe their boring style is Kryptonite for Louisville.

And OSU only loses when it counts. Conference tournament champs? Big Deal! The conference tournament is only an afterthought. Have OSU ask MSU if they'd like to trade the conference tournament trophy for a trip to the final four...

Arizona has two NBA players not three. Nic Wise is a nice little college player, but he isn't going to make it in the NBA.

But Arizona has no bench and absolutely no depth anywhere else on the floor. The coaching is also very suspect, because the interim guy was actually the last assitant off the bench. You get two fouls on Jordan Hill early and the game is over.

By the end of the game, the big three players are absolutely exhausted which means that if they haven't built a huge lead they will probably lose.

So yeah, Arizona overachieved bigtime, something you guys from Ohio know nothing about.

Sharla said...

You guys seriously make me laugh out loud. That's a really good thing, cause there's not all that much making me laugh right now, and laughing is good for you. I hope none of you ever change your attitudes, you're all hilarious.

Deep down, I think Israel enjoys playing Michael Wilbon to my Tony Kornheiser. ESPN should hire us to sub for PTI when they are on vacation.

Sad about Cleveland Brown Dontae Stallworth driving drunk and killing a person.

What is it about Ohio that makes residents want to be drunk all the time, don't they know drinking makes dumb people dumber?

And then there is this guy:

"A 28-year-old Ohio man was charged with driving under the influence after he crashed his barstool. The stool was powered by a lawn mower engine. He told police he was going about 20 mph — adding that he had consumed 15 beers. But he told a local TV reporter that he started drinking after the accident."

I have a picture of a drive through liquor store in ohio that I've been saving for such an ocassion, but I have a new computer so it's too much trouble to transfer.

It's unbelievable that even though Ohio invented and is the capital of drive through liquor stores some kill-joys object to its crowning achievement.

I pull a PMB on occasion...

Israel said...

Starting to believe me about MSU yet?

Unknown said...

^^^
I missed the part where you predicted a team that recently lost to OSU would make it to the championship game. :P

Israel said...

My analysis was pretty accurate:

MSU (a very deep, strong, disciplined, mentally tough team)

Your's? Not so much...

----------

Also proves that when people from Ohio want to shake the "loser" label, they go to Michigan.

-----------

I was glad MSU lost, because that leaves Arizona as the only school in history to beat three number one seeds in route to a National championship.

That is a feat that can never be topped no matter what because of how the tornament works. And as MSU proved today, it is going be well nigh impossible to ever equal it.
