I can hardly believe that Lincoln is already a month old!! He weighs 9 pounds 3 ounces now (give or take a couple ounces... I weighed him at mom and dads house by weighing myself first then holding him and weighing us together... I'm not sure how accurate that is.)
We took him out on the town today, we went out to eat and to run a couple of errands as well as to show Link off to my buddies at the Holiday Inn and to some of Zion's Sams Club friends. He's such a cutie and a really great baby. He almost never cries and doesn't care who has him. We passed him around to alot of people at the hotel and he was fine with it until he got hungry, then of course he wanted me. =)
Here are some pictures of him today and a couple random ones from the past couple weeks with his eyes open. Enjoy!

Me holding my smiley little baby... He's already not sure about the kisses!!!
This was earlier today... we're all ready to go out!!

TOO CUTE! What a little dollbaby! It is amazing how quickly he's changing. The first four weeks have just flown by. They have been so precious and we can never get them back, so KEEP TAKING LOTS OF PICTURES! You can never take too many pictures of your precious children, even though I have a ton, I wish I had taken more!
Lincoln's eyes are so pretty! He really IS such a good baby.
Yes - he really is a beautiful baby! :) So bright-eyed - I love his smiles too. :)
What a cutie! He is changing soo fast!
Linc is adorable.
i need to figure out how to recall a member of congress or however many from ohio that supported the stimulus bill. Just doing this math is ridiculous if it cost each US citizen $12,000 times 13 million citizens of ohio it totals $156,000,000,000 and in the stimulus bill there is supposed to be $64,000,000,000 for spending in ohio which would remove $92,000,000,000 from ohio's economy. Why does this make sense?
Think of it this way, Comrade Justin.
We're redistributing $92 Bil from real workers in Ohio to schlubs in CA - they really need it.
If Zion rolls over, that baby is toast.
Justin and PMB, you Republican geniuses should read my post in the last thread and take it to heart.
I suggest the rest of you avoid reading it and keep looking at the cute baby pictures.
Comrade Israel,
I read your comment. You never fail to please.
Thank You Herr Bauer!
And Heil Bush!
A Comrade Israel comment without a flawed analogy is like a frozen fish stick without a train conductor.
Jawohl, Herr Commandant PMB!!!

Sharla can you see this? This is almost the perfect base bear.
http://www.steiffteddybears.co.uk/steiff_bear.asp?steiff_code=004261
at the rate that obama is spending money i am just glad to know he will only be spending it half as long
Where was your criticism when Bush's spending was putting us in this recession / depression?
Hypocrite much?
It's like blaming the Doctor for trying to save a comatose patient instead of blaming George the Drunk Driver who ran the patient over in the first place.
You do remember George don't you?
---
Sorry, I forgot that your minds can't grasp analogies...
Israel,
I just looked at the bear. It looks good. I gave mine back to the seamstress and told her to elongate his arms and legs a couple weeks ago. She thought she could do it. I'll let you know when I get it back.
I think ignoring the politics and focusing on our beautiful baby is a great idea for me at least. Everything on the news just makes me crazy! What has happened to our country? And the poor woman who was mauled and half eaten by the chimp was named Charla!! I'm never watching the news again.
"Where was your criticism when Bush's spending was putting us in this recession / depression?"
Amnesia much?
BTW: The pic of Zion and Linc sacked out on the couch is the best.
Zion wasn't as asleep as it looks. He woke up as soon as the camera clicked... that usually wouldn't phase him at all. =)
I agree about taking a break on politics (the last four years leading up to the election were enough for me.)
I'm just happy that we've finally elected a President that isn't functionally retarded.
You've probably noticed that I didn't respond to PMB and Justin right away, they had to keep goading and goading me to get any response at all...
It's like blaming the doctor for trying to save the woman who was half eaten by a drug-addled Chimp, instead of blaming the Chimp or the Chimp's owner.
But I bet a drug-addled, Nazi, drunk-driving Chimp could have done a better job than our last President.
;)
Ha the reason it took so long for you to respond was because you thought we would give up. PMB and i were against bush spending the USA into a recession totally, but explain this to me oh wise one if Bush spent us into a recession how is Obama going to Spend us out of one. You really know this stimulus package / spending bill does not help the economy. One thing that is clear in this election is that Democrats like to tax the "rich" as long as they never really have to pay them if i had done anything remotely close to what half of obamas friends have done i would have to pay intrest and penalities out the wha-zoo but not if your a democrat apparently
Sorry Justin, I don't understand most of your rambling diatribe.
But I assume what Obama is trying to do is create public works projects to stimulate the economy the same way it was done during the depression.
They did things like build roads, bridges, dams, etc. and that created jobs and helped the country get moving again.
If you don't do anything, you allow the downward spiral created by Bush and rest of the the Republican idiots to continue unabated.
If you do nothing, people lose hope, stop spending, more jobs are lost, etc. The banks crash. We lose our ability to build motor vehicles, etc. We will need those building industries the next time we are in a war.
That's the theory anyway. We'll see if it actually works. But the bottom line is that you and your fellow Republican Bush lovers put us in this predicament in the first place. You voted for the moron even though I told you not to.
So you are fully responsible for a country that is fiscally and morally bankrupt, so don't blame the black dude that just took office and is trying to help clean up your stinking mess.
he same way it was done during the depression.
Oh, you mean the depression where FDR's failed policies prolonged the economic hardships (even profs at the libtard UCLA believe this now). The same policies that had unemployment pegged at 17.1% in 1939.
Oooohh. THAT one.
Seriously, dude. Doesn't seem like you know beans about history.
*shakes head*
That strikes me as very odd also. Everyone should know FDR's policies just drug it out longer. Have you ever read anything about the Roosevelts? I've always enjoyed reading biographies of some of the more famous historical characters. I have Mornings on Horseback which is all about Theodore. I like him better. But I have one book called The Roosevelts. Reading about both of their earlier lives is fascinating. Theodore had a better home life and much better character. Franklin had no character, he WAS a character.
I heard on Rush or someone the other day that even FDR's top guy admitted that they had been spending money like crazy but it had not helped or worked at all. Yet democrat's still sing his praises. It makes no sense.
I just read PMB's article. It is so aggravating that none of democrats will ever admit that these guys are accurate, even though they do hail from UCLA. It is as frustrating as the ridiculous hoax they used to call global warming but have recently had to start calling climate change. No matter how obvious it is they were on the the wrong track, they can NEVER admit it! It would be hilarious if the results weren't becoming so serious. It is like the black people who have sense and speak sense who are then marginalized and called "uncle Toms" Another opinion couldn't possibly be right. Their minds are all made up, don't confuse them with the facts!
Rush doesnt like FDR? Who cares.
At least FDR got a ringing endorsement from His Excellency, Papa Benito Mussolini.
“We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work.“I want to see this country prosperous. I want to see people get a job. I want to see people get enough to eat. We have never made good on our promises.”The words are those of none other than Henry Morgenthau Jr. — close friend, lunch companion, loyal secretary of the Treasury to President Franklin D. Roosevelt — and key architect of FDR’s New Deal.
The date: May 9, 1939. The setting: Morgenthau’s appearance in Washington before less influential Democrats on the House Ways and Means Committee.
Morgenthau made this “startling confession,” as historian Burton W. Folsom Jr. calls it, during the seventh year of FDR’s New Deal programs to combat the rampant unemployment of the Great Depression.
“In these words, Morgenthau summarized a decade of disaster, especially during the years Roosevelt was in power. Indeed average unemployment for the whole year in 1939 would be higher than that in 1931, the year before Roosevelt captured the presidency from Herbert Hoover,” Folsom writes in his new book, “New Deal or Raw Deal?: How FDR’s Economic
Legacy has damaged America".
Israel,
So, do you contend that he never really said this? Some republicans just made it up? He said it, but he, unlike FDR, was a moron? It is all taken out of context, he wasn't talking about the new deal? He was drunk at the time? A bunch of republican's got him drunk and made him say it? What?
Is it just me, or does Israel sound a lot like Charlie Brown's teacher?
After all this time and he still insists on calling us Republicans, saying George Bush is as bad as Hitler, there's nothing more to say.
The Republicans were sending this country to hell in a handbasket. No doubt. It's just the National Socialist Democratic party is strapping a scramjet onto the handbasket.
I'm a pragmatist. Ron Paul wasn't an option and neither was John Locke's ghost (the philosopher, not the TeeVee character). But not voting for the Kenian version of Mussilini doesn't translate to being a Republican. I've met 5 year olds with the critical thinking skills to deduce this fact.
Ok, better stop since I'm starting to get chippy.
To lighten things up ...

Q: What's the difference between Jesus and Obama?
(well...a bunch...but...)
A: Jesus was a carpenter. Obama can't even assemble a cabinet.
*badum-tshhhhh*
First of all the depression, isn't really a perfect template to look at when dealing with the current crisis. So whether or not FDR did the right thing or not (according to some random UCLA professors) isn't particularly relevant.
This current economic meltdown is driven by two things
1) the collapse in the banking sector
2) The crisis of confidence which is causing people to stop spending, hurting the overall economy.
If nothing is done and the banks completely collapse then the government is on the hook for all amounts insured by the FDIC. No matter what, it's gonna cost the government truckloads of money.
Bush already started the market panic by announcing that failing to bail out the banks was going to lead to financial armaggedon.
So doing nothing after making that stupid announcement just doesn't make sense.
If Obama folds his hands and does nothing (like you guys seem to be suggesting) people lose hope and perception of Armaggedon becomes reality -- the stock market implodes, people lose their savings and retirement, companies go bankrupt, pensions are kaput, more people lose their jobs and the Republicans cry about how it is all Obama's fault.
What do you financial geniuses suggest Obama do that doesn't require spending any money?
You guys do know that Economists are just pseudo-scientists don't you?
In fact, it's so hopelessly inexact that economics doesn't even deserve to be called a "science."
They've had monkeys pick stocks by throwing darts and they perform just as well as so called economics experts.
I have relatives who are economics professors and they'll tell you that if they really knew anything about how the markets worked they'd be making billions in the private sector instead of working for chump change at a state schools like UCLA.
So I'm supposed to care what a couple of PhD's have to say about the depression? Especially when I know they know that the best way to get attention and funding is to come up with counter-intuitive results and bash FDR?
I hang out with PhD's and professors all the time. You guys just don't know how the game works, or else you'd take anything any economist, psychologist, sociologist or other pseudo-scientist had to say with a HUGE grain of salt.
Ok put aside all your feelings toward against democrats and republicans.
The only thing I believe will in fact happen FOR SURE was the prophesies of William Branham which are UNDENYABLY and CLEARLY coming to pass AS WE SPEAK. I encourage you to go here, http://wmb1.com/de/~diego/Specials/Gold/Gold-01.shtml and read, and watch that film to understand what is happening to our economy and what effect the FED is having on us.
I also suggest you view a second film created by Warren Buffet. HERE

Pay attention to the fact that we have been in this boat before as a nation, but NEVER as an entire GLOBE. Every currency was backed the British Pound, and US dollar which were in turn backed by gold and silver, however both these currencies removed their backing and made the entire worlds currency just paper. We are beginning to feel the effects of that now. It's going to get MUCH MUCH WORSE.
What do we do?
There recently was a VERY large manipulation in gold and silver prices. The price of gold and silver dropped dramatically to all time lows, yet you couldn't find any ANYWHERE. I was put on a waiting list and had to order 4 weeks ahead of time to be able to get silver.
Why does the price drop when demand goes way up? It doesn't make sense. unless some very large powers wanted to suck up Gold and Silver. It would manipulate the price to drop to incredible lows, then buy up as much as it can. It will send the prices skyrocketing in coming months and years.
See what is happening in Washington is simple. We have at least 53,000,000,000,000 that we owe just in government promises. Mainly Social Security, Medicare and Medicade. That is more money than all the stock markets in all the world. We simply cannot pay that in Money.. However we CAN pay it in Currency. There is a fundamental difference. What obama is spending is currency, not MONEY. He is spending inflated money and stealing from people's saving. Not just Americans but people all over the world.
Thanks to fractional reserve, one single ounce of silver after this last stimulas package is equivelant to $10,000 FIAT (Paper) money. And that was BEFORE this most recent Trillion dollar bill was passed.
1 OUNCE!
and Gold is MUCH MUCH Higher!
Bush isn't the one who first started it, but he sure took it to new heights, to pay for wars that we can't really afford. What did he do in return for these funds? He gave banks EVERYTHING they requested. Look at the record. The bankrupcy laws changed, written by banks. Look at the way the government treated them.
Guess who the top contributers to Obama's campaign were.
https://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=29523832&postID=3682062490323108101
How many are banks?
We need to ask ourselves. Why does it cost $500,000,000 to elect a President who roughly makes $400,000 year?
The banks are spending for return on their investments. They want to make sure only those who will keep their mouths shut about what happening behind the doors of the FED.
We are being robbed, and our nation is ALREADY bankrupt.
Obama can't tell the nation this. He has no choice. He can't tell millions of Americans "Guess what, we aren't paying you!". Even though we can't. So he will spend more currency.
PS. Building infrastructure does not increase the GDP.It only adds to our liability columns. More things we need to maintain, that we can't really afford.
Israel asked what we need to do? We need to increase the GDP, turn our currency back into real money, and cut back on foreign imports. That would be the way to balance the budget and return our country to prosperity. All huge tasks.
Most importantly, we need to solve the Social Security and Medicare problem head on, instead of just prancing around it and sticking our head in the sand.
Clinton didn't have the guts, Bush didn't have the guts, and neither does Obama.
Clinton had to borrow from social security to "balance" the budget, but he didn't solve social security.
Its all headed towards massive hyperinflation. If it isn't there already.
The banks already have the "reserves" preparing for it. Look at these charts.
http://goldsilver.com/newsletters/newsID/3592/
You can get the same charts from the federal reserve website.
all that funding does not mean easier credits for American. It's just showing that they are preparing for an extensive Hyperinflation that will be hitting us during the next couple years, or months.
Look at recovery.gov. Look where the currency is going. Tax relief which can also be called bailout. then State and Fiscal relief. Then infrastructure.. entirely a liability. Adds to our national expense column.
and Science. Well technically, if we could decrease our dependence on foreign oils with that science, it could decrease our spending. I'll give you that.
Thats a big $111 Billion dollar IF.
Protecting the vulnerable?
From what, compounding inflation?
Health care, education.
43 billion on energy. (ok, possibly adding to our income column a little bit.)
My point a HUGE amount of this bill does nothing to offset our deficits. It increases our expenses and will speed up the demise of the American Dollar and the Global economy will spiral out of control.... another power steps in.
Its all been foretold.
And its all winding down now.
I messed up the contributers website for obama. so here it is.
http://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/contrib.php?cycle=2008&cid=N00009638
watch this video, it's comical.
Why is this Republican talking to his fellow Americans as if they are idiots?
Because he knows his demographic...
Republicans like Jindal and Limbaugh (who has said he wants Obama to fail) are horribly unAmerican. They would rather see our country crash and burn than admit that they are wrong.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090225/ap_on_re_us/panning_jindal
Don't know who Jindal is? He's a Republican "braniac" who converted to Catholicism at a time when people were leaving it in droves due to the fact that many of its priests have a annoying boy-rape habit.
But he wanted to get elected in Louisiana, which shows you what unAmerican Republicans who want our country to fail will do to get elected.
You see what Zion is doing with his analysis?
It is called "causing panic." It is the only thing Republicans are good at doing, causing panic for political purposes. They aren't good at anything else.
Unfortunately the last thing the economy needs right now is widespread panic.
The last panic they caused -- It was the "We-must-invade-Iraq-immediately-because-they-have-weapons-of-mass-destruction-and-the-survival-of-western-civilization-depends-on-it" Panic -- cost us billions of wasted dollars and thousands of wasted lives.
But it made Cheney's buddies at Halliburton incredibly rich even though it helped bankrupt the country, so I guess it was worth it.
It is called "causing panic." It is the only thing Republicans are good at doing, causing panic for political purposes.
You mean like how the markets drop every time Obama starts talking? Take yesterday for instance - they were going to close up...then he opened his pie hole.
Or, is he just stupid like a fox?
Israel,
You are wrong. I don't think we need to panic. Panic is the absence of reason. The last thing I think we need is the absence of reason at a time like this.
Look, our balance sheet isn’t balanced, and the only thing bigger than our countries liabilities are the lie abilities of politicians who say otherwise.
If you think I’m trying to swing people to the right, you are mistaken. First of all, I have already expressed how severely disappointed I was with the last administration for so blatantly disregarding the effects of their spending of mass proportions.
I also believe that
In the movie I liked to, IOUSA, they show that the secretary treasury was fired just for telling the truth about the national budget.
I think that Obama is trying; I just don’t agree that he is dealing with the root cause. It might just be that he doesn’t know that it is the root problem. He is surrounded by bank funded politicians who don’t want to deal with the problem because they consider even talking about it political suicide.
And I’m not against giving credit where credit is due. Listening to Obama’s speech, I was actually pleasantly surprised about his attitude and that he has the courage at least admit a few things.
I speak to you not just as a president, but as a father, when I say that responsibility for our children's education must begin at home. That is not a Democratic issue or a Republican issue. That's an American issue.
And there is, of course, another responsibility we have to our children, and that's the responsibility to ensure that we do not pass on to them a debt they cannot pay. That is critical.
At least he acknowledges it instead of just saying the financial crisis is just a Republican scare tactic.
Also
But I also know that, in a time of crisis, we cannot afford to govern out of anger or yield to the politics of the moment.
My job -- our job -- is to solve the problem - I like the fact that Obama is willing to take this is his problem, because when he does that, he will take steps he can take to fix it. I liked that Obama is willing to try and attack this. He’s either really brave, or has no idea what he’s saying. And I quite intrigued when he said
“As you can imagine, this is a process that will take some time, but we have already identified $2 trillion in savings over the next decade.”
If that’s true – BRAVO! That’s amazing! Now whether or not this claim is true, I don’t know. That’s a lot of money. That’s more than his stimulus package.
And finally, recovery.gov was a bold new idea. Kind of neat to see what happens to the stimulus. I think he should expand it to hold banks accountable too. We’ll see what happens.
I do like the fact that he seems to be trying to fix the problem instead of just complain about it.
I’m not so close minded that I can’t acknowledge a good thing. I don’t spend my days listening to talk show hosts that make a living finding things to complain about. When I hear that they are saying things like “Obama is in a conspiracy to keep black people poor and dependent on government”, I laugh. I don’t give in to that kind of mindset.
So if you think I’m trying to make people panic, I have no reason to do that. I’m simply calling a spade a spade. With inflation, huge opportunities open up. Although most people will lose a great deal of money, you don’t have to panic. Take time to learn about what kind of opportunities open up. In fact, for some people, the hyperinflation will be the greatest thing that ever happened to them. I am positioning myself to be with those people.
However I don’t have all praise for Obama.
I’m disappointed by a couple things. He pledged to get bi-partisanship, and he absolutely did NOT deliver. He didn’t have to, but he didn’t actually work with republicans at all.
I am disappointed about is the way he is trying to fix the problem.
Spending money to build new structures that don’t really create income, but create more things that we have to repair and maintain. I think this is a problem that we can’t fix just by throwing more money at it. And much of the stimulus is a bunch of pork. The current way the government spends money cannot continue.
Specifically, I don’t know how he will be able to keep these promises and still accomplish his goal of paying down the national debt. How can he cut tax for 95% of Americans and still pay down the national debt. What I hear is, “GUESS WHAT!! I’m going to decrease our income AND increase our spending!”
I expect Obama to raise taxes unless he finds out a way to
1. Either actually increase productivity, or 2. Decrease spending SIGNIFICANTLY. Or 3. BOTH
The only thing is, even if Obama figures out what he needs to do, the problem is so massive, it is likely too late. And like it or not, if the financial system collapses, they will blame it on Obama for the whole thing, and he won’t win re-election.
So no, I’m not inducing panic. I’m just trying to let people know what is preparing to happen, and if one prepares for it, it will be the greatest thing that ever happened to them.
I’m out.
Obama tries very hard to work with Republicans, but Republicans only care about their own political fortunes. They could care less about anything else. It's hard to have bipartisanship when the GOP only votes the party line on everything.
They are trying their best to make him fail, because the worst possible thing that could happen to them is to see Obama succeed after all they have done to screw up our country.
Limbaugh (the soul and voice of the Republican party) said it himself, he wants Obama to fail.
Then he claims he wants Obama to fail but he wants the country to succeed. How the heck is that going to happen? Only brain-dead Fox News Zombies can figure out how that can happen.
As for you Zion, it's nice to see that you have finally grown a brain, because I seem to recall you being a huge Bush supporter who was mocking Kerry along with the rest of the Republic-tards.
Too bad it practically took the systematic dismantling of our economy and our standing in the world to get you to come to your senses.
If Obama is working hard to get bi-partisonship, he needs to work harder or smarter. Whatever he's doing is not working. He needs to try something new if he is to deliver on his promise. The number of republican votes are proof of this.
He said his job is to fix problem. Here's a problem for you.
How do you get democrats and republicans to put aside their differences and work together?
Not by pushing bills through before people even have time to read them.
If someone came to your house, and told you you were going to be successful if you just sign this contract, but you only have 25 seconds to read the 5 page contract, would you do it?
Wouldn't it make you suspicious if you were being pressured to sign something that you don't know you are signing.
I think that there should be a time limit from the time a bill is submitted before it has to be signed. Just for due diligence. It should be proportional to the size of the bill.
If he doesn't work harder, he'll be a democratic bully, the same way Bush was a republican bully.
So much for change.
Oh, and regarding Rush Limbaugh. Not that I like the guy, but technically what he said is If Obama embraces Socialism, he wants it (Socialism) to fail. If he embraces Reaganism, he wants him to succeed.
If Rush said that he wants Obama to fail, then you are admitting Obama is a socialist.
It's just political games with speech, and it's why I hate listening to people like Rush,or Bill Maher because its something they do all the time. They misconstrue what is actually being said.
That's why people end up saying Obama wants black people to stay poor.
If people are believing this crap, its no wonder Obama has a tough time making people work together.
People need to be above this type of rhetoric.
The whole Bush thing has nothing to do with Zion "Coming to his senses"... it all had to do with me getting pregnant and him wanting to get a little bit smarter financially. =)
I would personally still vote for Bush instead of Kerry... I don't know about Zion's feelings on that, but I didn't like Kerry or trust him at all. =)
NY Times From 1999
Note the 3rd, 5th, and 7th paragraphs.
..and note the date and presidential administration.
Not sayin', just sayin'
DISCLAIMER: I am not (and never have said) the Bush administration holds zero culpability for the current crisis. After all, a Bush campaign '04 talking point was the high percentage of home ownership.
But, saying "t3h Bush i5 teh r00tz of eval!" is either idiotic or willfully ill-informed.
Limbaugh and the other Republican traitors to our country are trying their best to drive it into the ground.
To serve ideological purposes they want Obama to fail and that is why they are constantly pounding out that drum beat of fear and panic.
Will they prevail? Only if they take the country down with them. Keep watching because that is exactly what they are trying to do.
Everytime Obama tries to give the country and the people the hope they need, the Republicans come out not with solutions, but with purely ideologically-based criticism and scare tactics.
They think that by repeated "You're dooming us" over and over in four years they will be able to rise above the smoldering wreckage they created and say, "see we're geniuses, we told you Obama was dooming us to failure."
If you are not part of the solution your part of the problem and that's all Republicans are right now - a big problem.
Bernard Madoff is a Republican. Kenneth Lay was a Republican. Scratch the beneath the surface and that the scumbag criminal corporate execs primarily responsible for our economic meltdown are Republicans who tout the Republican values of greed and excess.
That's why Republicans are worse than failures. They are traitors of the highest order who are willing to sacrifice the American people for their own political gain.
Let's hope and pray they don't succeed.
*eyeroll*
You mean, like the Democrats were when they were wanting our ecconomy AND troops to fail for their own political gain?
Look, I'm as disgusted with the Republicans as anybody (and have said so...um....multipul times), but alternate realities like that ^^^ aren't sane, sound, or helpful. Right now, it's the Democrat's turn to run this country into the ground, and they are proving more than equal to the task, just as they were in 1999 when they set the lending bubble in motion. (see my link above)
Not once did I hear any democrat say that he wanted Bush to fail regarding the economy or Iraq.
Only a traitor like Rush Limbaugh would say something like that. And only his fellow Republican traitors would immediately aid and abet that failure by trying to panic consumers and drive down the market.
The Republicans are either traitors or criminally stupid and I suspect it's a little of both.
---------
I think God sent the lending bubble in motion when he created Adam.
None of your links mention anything about anyone twisting the banker's arms to get them to lend to unqualified buyers.
It's an obvious red herring. You are absolving bankers of all responsibility and trying to blame folks who pass fair lending laws. Typical Republican apologist.
It's like saying that the Constitution is responsible for Columbine because it gives folks the right to bear arms.
I think those two students who shot up the school bear some responsibility don't you?
I think those bankers who drove up their own profits by pushing loans on unqualified lenders bear some responsibility, don't you?
Not once did I hear any democrat say that he wanted Bush to fail regarding the economy or Iraq....[blah blah blah] aid and abet that failure by trying to panic consumers and drive down the market.
The Ds gleefully trumpeted the Iraq death count, denyed the surge worked, and tryed to paint 2003-2007 as horrible ecconomic times (they weren't). If you think that wasn't purely for political purposes and out of a desire to see Bush fail so they could get their grimy butts back in power, I'm going to ask you to invest in this Bridge to Hawaii project.
None of your links mention anything about anyone twisting the banker's arms to get them to lend to unqualified buyers.
It is wise to actually read an article before commenting on it.
(From NY Times, 09/1999, linked above)
Fannie Mae, the nation's biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people and felt pressure from stock holders to maintain its phenomenal growth in profits.
It's an obvious red herring [blah blah blah]
I think those bankers who drove up their own profits by pushing loans on unqualified lenders bear some responsibility, don't you?
You are arguing with yourself on this one, making the red herring comment particularly ironic.

Is this your A game? I know you are a good lawyer, so maybe it's just that your B game works on the Kommiefornian potheads that populate their benches and jury boxes.

The Defacto Leader of the Republican Party thinks People Dying of Cancer is Funny
A Traitor and a Scumbag -- no wonder Republicans love him.
WASHINGTON – A Democratic official rebuked conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh on Friday for suggesting a health care proposal will be named in memory of Sen. Edward Kennedy, who is battling brain cancer. On his radio show, Limbaugh said President Barack Obama's proposed health care revisions will be championed by "the liberal lion Teddy Kennedy."
"Before it's all over, it'll be called the Ted Kennedy Memorial Health Care bill," Limbaugh said.
Brian Wolff, executive director of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, called the remark outrageous and reprehensible.
Limbaugh has been at the center of a partisan dispute since telling a conservative group last month that he hoped Obama's economic policies would fail.
Note to All Republican Traitors:
The war to prevent a total economic meltdown cannot be won by spreading fear and disinformation.
I know your loyalty to your pathetic excuse of a party outstrips your loyalty to the people of the United States, but you need to stop.
Even Warren Buffet agrees with me, Republicans need to stop feeding the demons of fear and doubt and get with the program.

Warren Buffet best days are ahead of him. That's why he owns 20% of the World's silver. He's going to be the richest man in the world.
Why do you suppose that is?
He doesn't trust the way the government spends money.
I doubt even Howard "YEeeAAaaaaW!" Dean is so far out there that he thinks everyone who didn't vote for Obama is a Republican and, by implication a traitor.
Dangerous ground, that.
There are two Republican camps.
The Republicans who support Rush Limbaugh and want Obama to fail even if it ruins our country are traitors.
The rest of the Republicans are just idiots...
