Happy Birthday, John!! I hope you have a wonderful day!!!

I got here to Ohio yesterday afternoon. John and Janessa were at the airport waiting for me when I arrived. We had a nice drive home with a pit stop at Skyline Chili where Mom, Becca, Brandon and Ben met us. Unfortunately, it was raining on the way instead of snowing, and all the snow that was on the ground yesterday morning was melted. I can't wait until it snows again, it's beautiful in the woods.

Their house and driveway have come a long way since the last time I was here. (They actually HAVE gravel which is really nice!!)

Ok, I'm going to swallow my pride and ask, even at the risk of making myself look completely computer illiterate; can someone please tell me how to not have that little trash-can-looking-thing come up after I post a comment??? I would be most grateful! I find it rather annoying.:|

The little trash can is so that you can delete your comment if there is something that you mistyped or if you change your mind about what to say. It is built in as part of blogger. =)

Yes, it's a little cold outside, but sitting by the fire is quite lovely. =) I'm happy to be home.

if you want the trash can to go away all you have to do is sign in as someone else after you leave your post.

Thanks for the help guys. I realized that the little can is only there when I sign in and that everyone else can't see it.

Ok.

So probably everyone else knew that..

=)

Oh well.

At least fallen Republican politicos only flirt in bathrooms and make semi-offensive comments at birthday parties.

Apparently, Democratic Senate seats are a tradable commodity.
Who says our neo-Communist friends don't believe in a free market?

Is this the "change" we were promised?

AP: "Obama works to distance himself from Ill. governor"

ABCNews.com: "Questions Arise About the Obama/Blagojevich Relationship"

Illinois Democrats - leading the way in political corruption since, well, a really long time ago.

I can't wait to see who the "buyers" were! What a corrupt mess this is...

I'm confused, is Obama the Governor of Illinois?

Is that why you guys are blaming him for this?

I guess if we are all responsible for all the wrongdoing that occurs in our home state, all you people from ohio are guilty of microwaving babies.

Shame on you guys!!

No. Obama is not the Gov. of Ill. But the Gov. of Ill. is a Democrat.

So let's apply the Israel Formula of Ethics.

Ted Stephens = Republican
Ted Stephens = corrupt
Republicans = corrupt
therefore, ALL Republicans = corrupt

ahem...

Rod Blagojevich = Democrat
Rod Blagojevich = corrupt
Democrats = corrupt
therefore, ALL Democrats (including Barack Obama) = corrupt

See? It's easy AND fun!

Let's see here.

There are roughly 50 governors - one for each state in these states united (I may have missed a few, but I'm not far off).

28 of those governors are members of the Democratic party. In the past year, nearly 10% of them have engaged in known illegal activity and been the subject of federal investigations. I'd say there's a 'slight' problem.

*stirs pot that calls kettle black*

Point is, the Illinois political system may be the most corrupt our nation has. Nothing crawls out of that cesspool without the express approval of Richard M. Daley - head of the same machine that spawned Obama.

The reason nobody even heard of Blagojevich until after the election is, even as governor, he isn't the top boss in that state.

I can't think of a single politician who has had to publicly distance himself with such frequency from former comrades like Obama has.

Of course, we know Obama is absolute goodness personified. So my only conclusion is he must either have incredibly poor judgment or the worst luck imaginable in choosing his friends and associates.

No, the point is, that suggesting that Obama was involved in the Illinois governor's shenanigans makes you guys seem like lying partisan scumbags...

FROM THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

"There are no suggestions that Obama or his aides were involved in the alleged sale of his seat. Fitzgerald has said prosecutors were making no allegations that Obama was aware of any scheming. And Blagojevich himself, in taped conversations cited by prosecutors, suggested Obama wouldn't be helpful to him and called him a vulgar term. Even if the governor were to appoint a candidate favored by the Obama team, Blagojevich said, "they're not willing to give me anything except appreciation."

Your AP quote is old (read over a week ago) and pre release of Rahm Emanuel phone tapes. There is a lot we do not yet know

Would you mind explaining how major news organizations observing the reactions of the "administration-elect" to this scandal makes ME a lying scumbag?

Sure, I might be a lying scumbag for other reasons, but this?

Bitter much?

The Rahm Emmanuel phone tapes show what exactly?

Do they show him offering to buy or sell a Senate seat?

Nope. And implying otherwise is what makes you a lying scumbag.

Talk about grasping at straws and distorting the truth.

Truly pathetic...
