oddly enough, ACORN registered approx 200,000 voters in OH. No prizes for guessing Obama's margin of victory in our state.

:P

(yeah yeah I know...didn't make a difference)

Aaaaand...
Homer tried to vote for the candidate that wants to take away money from parks and libraries. I didn't know that was part of The One's platform?! Seems the press should have covered that.

It looks like Eric Holder will be the next AG (pending congressional rubber stamp).

Deputy AG under Janet "The Big Ugly" Reno, Holder has a stellar anti-2nd Amendment record.

(Israel before & after election): "Obama won't touch your guns."

We shall see.

I've never wanted to be more wrong on anything in my life.

Hey Israel.

What do you think of your California legal system - one so messed up that the SCoC accepts a suit to over-turn state constitutional amendments?

From what do the courts derive their authority to rule on the legitimacy of a state constitutional amendment given their only authority derives from that document, and that document's authority is derived from the people - the same people who amended the constituion?

That the court has accepted the suit at all is troublesome. They are ascribing powers of judgment to themselves for which they have no legal basis.

The plaintiff's argument? "...voters alone [do] not have the authority to enact such a significant constitutional change."

REPUBLICANS GIVE TED STEVENS THE ALASKAN SENATOR WHO LOST HIS SEAT AFTER BEING CONVICTED OF CORRUPTION AND MULTIPLE FELONIES A STANDING OVATION BUT THEY DON'T CLAP QUITE AS LOUD FOR THE REPUBLICAN WHO SOLICITED GAY SEX FROM AN UNDERCOVER COP IN AN AIRPORT RESTROOM

"That's right, Ted!" barked yet another long-timer, Sen. Robert C. Byrd, D-W.Va., who turned 91 on Thursday.

Stevens lost his re-election bid this week to Anchorage Mayor Mark Begich, a Democrat, and is appealing his felony convictions. He has said he's not seeking a pardon from President George W. Bush.

His farewell address came during the final proceedings of the 110th Congress, a sometimes surreal intersection of outgoing lawmakers and their successors preparing to take their seats next year.

Scattered around the Senate floor were some of those not returning. Among the farewells was one from another Republican departing under the cloud of scandal, Sen. Larry Craig of Idaho, who pleaded guilty in a men's airport sex scandal but has denied doing anything wrong.

"Uncle Ted, I'm going to miss you, Craig said. This Senate will miss you, your state will miss you and America will miss you."

That Robert "KKK" Byrd is still a Senator in good standing is evidence for a broken system.

I think the argument is that the amendment itself is unconstitutional.

I voted for the amendment so obviously I don't think it's unconstitutional but we'll see what the court thinks.

I don't have a lot of respect for the way they've handled this issue from day one.

Israel,
I heard Michael Moore say "it's the end of capitalism". Do you believe that? Do you think it's a good thing? Cause I thought before the argument was that it wasn't gonna be the end of capitalism...

Israel said...

Naw, I don't think it's the end of capitalism.

Michael Moore will probably make a lot of money making a movie about how the Republicans brought about the end of capitalism.

At least the Republicans will have to be a little sneakier when it comes to ripping us all off...
