I'm a terrible mother....
I just got back from WIC and they informed me that Lincoln is slightly iron deficient (not all that uncommon for his age apparently) and that he is now no longer on the higher end of the length range but is higher on weight. So apparently I have a short, fat baby who hasn't been getting enough iron! I was told to stop giving him bottles and start making him eat more meat and other things high in iron. I was told to give him eggs, but I've been told NOT to give him eggs until he is two by other sources, so I'm now completely confused!!! (Plus after witnessing Brandon get eggs at 1 year old then being rushed to the ER because he couldn't breathe... I'm a little hesitant to give him those!!)
So, I need your help, people!! What do I feed my baby now that he's 1? What's safe? What's healthy? What's he supposed to be eating?? How many times a day? How much milk is he supposed to be drinking?? (And apparently it all has to come from a sippy cup, not a bottle!) Should he be drinking juice more than milk? How about water? Someone tell me what to do, because he didn't come with an instruction manual and I don't wanna ruin him!!! UGH!!!!
OK, I wasn't really dragged, it was my idea, lemme explain.... Sometime in March, my brother Jariah called and said we should all move to Columbus(2 hours away) so the guys could get better jobs. I said that's a great idea, but lets go to Tucson(36 hours away) instead!! (Zion's been wanting to for years.) Everything worked out really fast, so two months later, we were on our way!

Tomorrow morning I am going to Jess' house to bake/ decorate the cake for Elisabeth's church shower. It will be my biggest creation so far... and I'm pretty nervous about it!!! (None of the other cakes I've made have quite made it up to my standards.... so hopefully this one will be the exception since so many people will see it!!) I'm going to Jess' house because she has a decent sized counter over there... and my counter space is very limited... makes it pretty tough to roll out enough fondant to cover a 12 inch layered cake. (I'm also going to stack an 8 or 10 inch on top of that... my first ever stacked cake!! Fingers crossed!!) If it turns out and I end up serving it, I will post pictures... if it crumbles and doesn't work, there's always Sam's Club!!! lol
On a separate note, I bought a dress for Justin and Elisabeth's wedding.... I haven't lost enough weight to get into the sweater that I was hoping to wear.... (looks like Jess might wear it) so I just have to find shoes and something to wear with my dress to make it a bit more decent, plus a shirt for Zion, (possibly/probably new pants), and something for Lincoln to wear.
Oh yeah, and Jariah and Becca and the kids might have to stay with us because Mom and Dad are working on dry walling their house, which would be pretty crazy because it's a smaller apartment than Pusch Ridge was and we've added 2 people. Pusch Ridge was a 2 bed/ 2 bath apartment and the smallest place we all lived in while we were in Arizona.... Zion and I currently have a 1 bed/ 1 bath little apartment.... but we DO have a hide-abed and a pack-n-play and a very nice swing!!! (It's only a week and I'm gonna LOVE seeing all of them, even if it is tight quarters!!!!) =)

My little man is a year old today..... I can't believe how fast it's gone!!! I will be posting pictures of his 1st birthday party after we have it..... on the 31st!! We wanted Jariah and Becca and the kids to be able to be here for his birthday, so we postponed it until they can come too!!! =) I can hardly wait for so many, many reasons!!! (A huge one is that I'll get to meet my new little niece, Natalie!!!)
Meanwhile, I'm busy planning Lincoln's Birthday Bash.... should be pretty fun and no doubt pretty cute!! (The theme is of course Abraham Lincoln and I am making little stovepipe hats for all the kids as party hats!!) I'll be sure and post pictures!!!! =)
