Today I washed all my laundry that I had from Family Camp. It was soooo much fun.

I was origionally supposed to be back in Tucson tonight, but we decided to stay an extra week because things have been so hectic around here that we haven't really got to spend much time with anyone, and since it will most likely be at least Christmas before we come back, I wanted to get SOME time with all of my friends and family.

Wow! She seems like a pretty nice landlord to me.

Here's the history of the Castro House for those who want to know why it fell into such disrepair.

Grandma and Grandpa lived there for a long time and it was really nice and comfortable, but grandpa died and Grandma got sick and no one lived in it for a while.

Brother Green the pastor bought the place from my mom (because mom was being sued and couldn't have it in her name) and he rented it out to one of the teachers at the school but they had a falling out and the teacher was evicted. I don't think that teacher treated the house very well.

Then Brother Green used the house as a storage facility for church stuff. It was unoccupied and uncared for for quite a while.

Then Josh and Becca reacquired the house back from Brother Green and shortly thereafter you guys moved in and started complaining about it being in such bad shape. (This was not Josh's, Becca's or mom's fault)

If you guys (Zion and Jeshanah) would like to move up in the world, look for a nice house with air-conditioning in a nice area and Christine and I will buy it as an investment property and you can rent from us, with the condition that property is kept in absolute tip-top pristine condition (no cats, dogs) and we get to stay in it when we visit.

Maybe we can work out some kind of better deal with the rent if Zion is school and getting good grades although I am sure that I am a much meaner landlord than the one you have now, so if you guys don't keep up with the terms I'll stomp your heinie, kick you out and keep your deposit.

Maybe the Jariah Holsapples can stay in the Castro house so that I don't steal away all the renters and so that you guys have more privacy.

What do you think?

The week of Sept 4th my family is going to be in San Diego if anyone wants to join us. It would be a nice respite from the heat. Someone tell mom we would love to see here there.

Sign me up!! That would be awesome!!

Those conditions sound fine to me, (actually you would have to pay me for me to have a cat or dog in my house...fish are okay, but other than that- yuck.) And you guys are always welcome in any house that I live in... just so long as you call first. =) I'm a big fan of living in my pjs.

I have not thought that the condition of the Castro house was Josh, Becca or your mom's fault. (They don't seem like the type of people to put huge holes in walls and I seriously doubt that they sabatoged our cooler and dumped fire ants in our bathroom and all the other things like that)

The only thing is that I do not want to move to a nicer, safer neighborhood and leave my sister and her baby alone in the Castro house all day long everyday to fend for themselves. We don't mind living together, but we would like it better if we were both in a safer neighborhood, so if you really do this, can they please come too?? It would also make the rent more managable so we could maybe get our own place that much sooner. Plus, that way, Josh and Becca could rent that house to someone else and make some good money on it.

Well, anyway, I hope I didn't just come across as an ungrateful, complaining, whining, spoiled little brat, but I'm sure if I did, I will know about it soon enough.

See all you AZ family soon. Adios!

Hey Israel,

We just wanted to let you know that if you wanted a house in Phoenix, that would be awesome. But Tucson is great, too. =)

I'm thinking a nice house in a nice neighborhood, I'm thinking Tucson, maybe a new development in the foothills or on a Golf Course or in a gated community in the $300,000 to $400,000 range. Do they have those up there?

It doesn't have to be the boggest or fanciest house, but something upscale in a gentrified neighborhood (where the snotty people live) with a good school district. I don't want to buy in a neighborhood where the neighborhood starts out decent and then goes downhill. I want it somewhere that will appreciate and is going to attract people who have decent jobs and decent money.

If it's an older house, maybe the Sam Hughes neighborhood in a good location where the U of A professors might live or something like that.

Phoenix is 10 degrees hotter and I honestly don't like Phoenix at all.

If five people are selling in the same neighborhood, I'm probably not going to be interested.

Where is Vail?

That's like Timbucktu isn't it?

Hey where did Jimmy get that kind of money as a mailman? Stuffing letters in mailboxes? I'm must be in the wrong line of work.

So what do you get for 500K?

No offense, but I don't wanna buy a house built by Zion.

We could use Jimmy to get the mortgage to buy the house. I expect a bang-up interest rate.

Finding the house to buy is up to Jeshanah, Jariah, Zion and those guys. If there is a nice fixer-upper in the $400,000 out there, in a good location, I'm sure Jariah could help do that. I don't have the time to go out and find one myself. Maybe they can talk to Jimmy he sounds like a really smart guy.

(By the way how is his brother Jonathon doing?)

I am sure that there are a lot of desperate sellers out there who over-extended themselves during the real estate boom and are willing to sell below appraised value.

In San Diego we will be staying at the San Diego Marriott Hotel and Marina for a couple nights Sept 6,7, 8. Christine has a conference those days so it'll just be me and the kids and maybe the Nanny.

We could come in earlier if you hguys want to hang out and do labor day weekend together but we would probably wanna stay at a cheaper hotel for thos extra days.
